  • With regret I state

"my dad and I) he told me that this is a blog, where pretty intelligent people - who kind of have the same political views - exchange interesting arguments and ideas and where I could learn a lot. I did - and I also joined a debate club in school. The rule there is - to give a good argument - to listen to others and finally come to a conclusion, based on the facts."

    Mr/Ms pieceofcake:

I have been posting on blogs for almost 20 years. In all that time, I have seen few meetings of the mind, and a lot of venal nastiness. Regretably, the web is often a place of the venting of spleen, and seldom of the meeting of minds.

  • That's funny

"Yes, I think it's very interesting. If you stand for core Democratic principles (e.g., universal health care), you're not likely to draw Republicans. "Obama Republicans" is another way of saying: my guy is a squishy centrist who doesn't believe anything. I'm sure you're not saying that."

I swear that I addressed this to AJCalhoun. Is your name ajcalhoun? No, it is not.

  • Cheese?

"This all noted, it's very disappointing how much wholesale misogyny has been directed at HRC from a supposedly liberal website.

Apparently misogyny, not weight,is the last acceptable prejudice and the so-called liberals who patronize AND edit the website are just fine by this despite the support they've enjoyed from feminists for decades."

What cheese do you favor with your whine?

  • During the general election

"My point is, "So what" that Barack Obama has won these heartland and southern states? It might look to you as though Obama is "sweeping" across the country, even winning in Red States, but "sweeping" means nothing when placed in historical context, and neither do Red States wins."

Thus, you must believe that since Barack did not win California or New York or New Jersey in the primary, he will not win them in the general election?

If you REAALY HONESTLY believe that, you are an idiot. If you DON'T REALLY BELIEVE THAT, you are dishonest and lying debater.

    So, stupidity or cupidity?

  • The fearsome John McCain

Ha! What a PILE of STINKING SHIT!!

During the last 3 days, he outright failed to win ME and KS. What's more, the WA Repukeliscum Party is manipulating the results. He is probably losing in WA as well. They STOPPED the count with McCain ahead by 1.1 % with 87 % of the vote counted.

They stopped the count to give McCain a win. Really unbelievable.

John McCain is very weak, very weak indeed. He already has 60 % of what he needs, and he cannot win obviously winning contests. They are cheating for him.

So, let's have no more of the "unstoppable John McCain". I will believe in the "unstoppable" when he demonstrates that he is, in fact, "unstoppable." Right now, he can't get his engine to turn over.

  • Bitterness and divisiveness

"I know how much you like to call people dishonest and liars. But New Jersey is NOT a lock in the general with Obama the nominee. Neither is Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Iowa, or several other swing states. And you know it."

I cannot believe that you are raising New Jersey. In the last 4 elections in NJ, the Republicans looked like they were 2-4 pts down. In 2 senate races and the governor's race, the pundits all said "Could NJ go repuke?" Well, in each case, the Dem won BIG BIG BIG.

OH? It's VERY BLUE right now. Ever hear of COINGATE?

    PA? Dem

NM? Barack is actually winning there, or is very close to winning.

He already won in IA? Don't you remember the IA caucus?

You people are just pitiful. You are so desperate, it is just painful to watch.

And besides, Hillary's negatives made all those states dicey with her as well. You continually ignore the Hillary dislike out there. She has a HUGE RESIDUAL WELL of dislike.

So, nope, you ain't convinced me. NY and CA will not go REPUKE.

  • Hate-filled Hillary shrews

"He joined the Dem party in Chicago for connections to get rich, and milked them well tossing aside anyone who got in the way, his constituents, public housing tenants, indicted slumlords and so forth and then decided he was qualified to be President without even finishing a single term in the presidency. He and his fawning neolibs who should bloody damned well know better by now have crippled our strongest candidate. Obama has done this for his own ambitions knowing damned well he doesn't have a chance against McCain once the press turns on his resume and colorful history which they will assuredly do the moment they are sure Hillary really is done."

This is a perfect example of why I could never support Hillary. Her shrewish shrill vixens of supporters are mostly jerks.

I was quite neutral on Hillary until I read post after post like this. Rezko this (ignore Chu), ethical violations (ignore Rose Law Firm, cattle futures), etc.

For you little shrews Hillary is a goddess. But she is going down. Obama is no perfect guy, far from it. He is green, but an effective speaker.

He is not perfect, and neither is Hillary. She actually is often convincing, and a good speaker.

It is her harridans of supporters that make me spew green upchuck. Shrill isn't the half. Vindictive witches is more like it.

  • What IS going on in Washington State?

Why hasn't the Republican Party finished the count? Stopping at 87% of all returns smacks of results-driven politics.

Does anyone have any information about this?
