Yep, and they hold their first service in my church
[Read the article: Bless me, Mother ...]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]On Dec 1, the women will hold their first service in my church, 1st Unitarian. I'm looking forward to it, and plan on attending with my family. We are unitarian, of course, not catholic, but these fine innovative ladies need support.
Unitarianism was originally the "unitarian heresy" and we Unitarians have a soft spot for heretics and dissedents of all sorts.

I'm not a Paglia fan, BUTTTTT
[Read the article: Queen Hillary's disruptive court]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]she has nailed Hillary on this one. Her fans, the Hillary-bots, are relentless, humorless, and will not allow anyone to question the inevitability of Her Inevitabilityness. On the various blogs, the Hillary-bots are a plague.
WHenever I consider supporting Hillary, I read some trenchant, mordantly obtuse and flagrantly humorless diatribe from some Hillary-bot, and I realize that any candidate who attracts syncophantic robots like these turds has serious problems.
Chris Dodd's the man. GIve him a charisma transplant, and all would be well.

For the Hillary-bots
[Read the article: Queen Hillary's disruptive court]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Without Bill, Hillary would be an overpaid lawyer in Chicago. She is not her own person. She is "Bill-made". Or is that "Bill-maid". Regardless, she is not an accomplished person. What she is, she owes to Bill. She ain't done nothing on her own.

Online poker CANNOT be regulated
[Read the article: Life, liberty and the right to play online poker]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As an Internet data management professional and computer person, there is NO way that I would ever play online with real money. Why?
1) Games of skill require odds to be known. With online games, the odds are under the programmer's control, and can be manipulated.
2) Collusion is certainly possible, and almost guaranteed.
3) The house can use shills, and change the odds in their favor.
4) No scheme for monitoring odds can work, since the odds can be changed from hand to hand, and this means that ANY large scale monitoring cannot work.
It's just like voting with online terminals. No one knows who wins until the winner is declares, and then there is no way of checking.

Marriage is under attack
[Read the article: Brian Williams: "Marriage is under attack"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]and if Giuliani is elected, the attack will have succeeded.
Of those who hold marriage in contempt, a huge number are nationally significant Repukeliscum pols. Roy Blunt of MO, Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Steve LaTourette of OH, Dan Burton of IN, and so forth and so on. All of these scum bags have either dumped their wives or had affairs or otherwise shown how little they care for family values.

Word salad. Garbage. Drivel.

In the US
[Read the article: A new player in Afghanistan's Great Game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]the mining company would pay nothing. Nothing, except like 5c/acre.
The 1876 mining law desperately needs revision.

The Repukeliscum Party IS the Party of Wacks
[Read the article: The Snowman is the least of their worries]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Repukeliscum Party has, for years, since the onset of the Suthron strategy, been appealing to the racist, bible-thumping, paranoid wacks in the American public. They have succeeded. The Repukeliscum Party is now the Party of fruits, nuts and wacks. There are no sensible normal people who could call themselves Republicans anymore. They are all wacks.

Chris and Joe talk too much
[Read the article: The Dodd and Biden show]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That's why they ain't ahead. They have Senatoritis. There is no such thing as a sentence. Instead, there are paragraphs, small essays and entire novels. No sentence can be expressed unless it has 3 subordinate clauses. You can't figger out what they said without Tom Swift's Jim Dandy Sentence Diagramming Machine.

FUCKING SCUMBAGS
[Read the article: Fake it until you make it: A housing flipper saga]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This turd should be in jail for many many years. He and the other parasites and scumbags like him are fully responsible for this horrible mess that we are in. After all, without flipping fucking jerks like this, the housing prices would be nowhere near where they are.
The ONLY reason that CA houses are in such a horrible mess price-wise is toads like this. These houses are often very very small, and selling for thousands of dollars higher than anywhere else in the country.
For you CA jerks, let me tell you about my house. 5200 sqft, 9/10 acre lot, 4 bath, 5 bed rooms, family room is 30x35 with 19 ft ceilings.
Cost, in 1997: 172,000
That's what you CA idiots are missing. Buying a nice house for a reasonable amount. And what did you trade that for? The opportunity of selling each other the overpriced property down the block until all prices went thru the roof.
I'll tell you one thing that would fix this: repeal Prop 13, so that everyone would be punished in property tax by the misuse of the resale of houses.

The real reason they were released
[Read the article: Fact-checking Rudy's testicular toughness]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Reagan had a deal with the Iranians. They naturally prefer Republicans, since the Republican Party pays off better.

Prop 13
[Read the article: Fake it until you make it: A housing flipper saga]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The problem is that annual escalation is limited. That means that the MAIN amount of property tax is paid by new owners.
Trust me, those of us outside of CA are aware of this massive swindle. I have occassionally considered a job in CA, as many of the positions that I am competitive for are in CA. I will NEVER take one, since my actual cost of living would go way way way high, and my benefit would go down down down.
People are beginning to realize was a scamola the housing situation is in CA, and you are seeing inmigration go way way down. Only a millionaire could afford the crap prices for junky houses that is charged.
Prop 13 was a terrible idea.

Another solution
[Read the article: Fake it until you make it: A housing flipper saga]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Eliminate the capital gains exemption for house sales as it stands. It used to be that you got 1 of these in your lifetime. Then they changed it to 2. Now there is an unlimited number, as long as you wait 2 years.
that means that flipping is now capital-gains-tax free, as long as you wait 2 years, and fake the residence requirement.
We need to cool this off. We should lengthen the period from 2 years to 7 years.

Thanks, MM
[Read the article: Fake it until you make it: A housing flipper saga]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Your bit about Prop 13 has me shaking as I sit here. I know that taxes can be too high. But I certainly value my schools.
We are paying the price for the insanity of Prop 13 and its children. Public universities are WAAAAYY too expensive. Schools are underfunded. And yet the Repukeliscum still talk about how bad the teachers are.
I hope that Howard Jarvis is screaming in pain every day. What a miserable piece of shit.

Paul Gann
[Read the article: Fake it until you make it: A housing flipper saga]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]died of AIDS, the miserable piece of shit. Another asshole died in an appropriate manner. I just hope his last days were miserable.
