I love reading comments from "angry" "serious" artists, arty-types. Have a sense of humor.

Cindy Sherman is a smart woman, but more of a marketing tool than an artist. Anyone can take silly, sexy, ironic pictures of herself -- I know, "but you didn't".

  • Great timing

I too fall into this category, the over-analyzer. The image of the Ann H walking back and forth, to and fro trying to decide which way to go hit close to home with me. I do that!

My wife is constanly frustrated by my indecisiveness and incessant questioning. I am too, of course.

She is quite different and believes the universe will provide you with what you need, in the case the correct decision. Anyway, today she was doing a reading (Angel cards. Look it up.) and asked if I wanted to do one. I did and pulled the card that says "Make a Decision". It was a nice little energy booster to addressing my indecisiveness. And this letter, and many of the responses, provided some concrete solutions to try. Thank you.

  • relevant to me

What makes his version this oft-written story interesting to me is his highlighting our ability to "shave the edges" off memory to survive and thrive. Many of the most successful people can create their reality or recreate their past in the most positive light, which allows them to move on, set goals and achieve them in the face of the objective reality of their failures; That and the journalistic rigor with which he investigated his own past make this a relevant piece.

fromPhilly’s insistence that this story was published only because of where he works is barking up the wrong tree.
