for Omar Khadr is on c-span 2 right now
i think he is the suspect who was kidnapped and tortured at Guantanamo at the age of 15.
and turn on MSNBC and it says "breaking news: Obama wins peace prize" All i can think is you cant mean to Nobel peace prize right? not the nobel peace prize. I then thought, hmm after reading glenns article about the torture photo concealment amendment and the historical descrition of Obama Continuing Bush policies or worse, i couldnt help but wonder what Glenn Greenwald would say.
Your response this morning put Obama in a better light than i thought it it would. I mean, you're right about his changes in Israel-US policy and rhetoric, but as you described yesterday his administration's policies towards torture-cover up, torture lawsuits, etc have been abyssmal.
was surprised this morning when i turned on the tv to see you on Dylan Ratigan. He's a pretty good host when it comes to moderting panel debates and I was glad to see he invited you on. Great job countering Huffington and Capehart, keep up ze great work!
from my last post i'd just like to say, that if David Broder thinks torture = watergate, that all executive crimes are all the same and that they must be forgiven without serious punishment, then what are the limits to what a president can do. I mean seriously, if a president ordered lets say an attack on an innocent village to send a message to the locals, would that be too tricky for prosecution since the trials would divide the nation. no we must "focus on the task of changing the way" America is to be governed and never look back.
How David Broder tries to compare watergate to torture and prisoner homicide.
Not to say that an administration trying to cover up its illegal burglary of a democrat's office isn't a bad thing. But its a lot easier to swallow a pardon for a president who's crime was a coverup of a political burglary (and his involvement in that said burglary) than it is to let Dick Cheney ride off into the sunset after leaving behind an entire system of torture and detention that morally bankrupted our country and killed around 100 prisoners.
I turn on Hardball to see if they're going to talk about the CIA investigations and the lead story is the homicide of Michael Jackson. After several grueling weeks of seeing the media focus on Anna Nicole Smith's death I didn't think it could get much worse but it I guess I was wrong.

Ok ten minutes later and they're now going to talk about it after the next break. Like Glenn said, Chris Matthews says thanks to the work of the ACLU (but not the media or congress) for the release of the reports.
The sad thing is, I bet this won't make big headline news on the stations. I mean, an issue as serious as war propaganda to tilt a presidential election and its gonna be treated like, "Yep Bush did bads things, but thats in the past. We need to look forward!"
I don't think Lanny Davis will be coming back on your radio show anytime soon
Richard Wolffe or Keith Olbermann on to your podcast show? It would be interesting to hear them try to defend themselves, especially Richard Wolffe.
thanks homeruk
Is there any legal action Binyam Mohamed can take to compel the high court to release the facts of his torture?
Also, props to Chuck Todd for going on your show.
One thing that stood out to me was when you pointed out the transcripts where he stated that the torture investigations issues was a left vs. right political food fight. You gave him a number of people who were independent and he didn't seem to own up to what he said he. He just lamented that the media makes things right vs. left. But I want to know if the right vs. left political food fight was his own phrasing from his own analysis or what his producers (or whoever he answers to at MSNBC) wanted him to frame the discussion as.
that because we had a "noble" cause it wasn't torture? That is so ridiculous on its face, how on earth could she have uttered that. Even in some alternate reality where it could be true, I'm sure many would disagree with calling America's two wars in the middle east "noble."
Its a shame that the homicides resulting from the torture program aren't talked about in the MSM. If it were talked about more, neocons and other warhawks wouldn't be able to scream "it was just a splash of water on their faces" or "these are the worst of the worst."
I watched the documentary taxi to the darkside about a month ago and its really sad to know that there are at least 100 hundred cases of homicides just like Dilawar's.
Its not only President Obama, but the democrats too. After watching yesterday's war supplemental vote on C-Span, I'm feeling pretty damn cynical. I'm Proud of Jane Hamsher and Co. though, the fire pups made a gallant effort.
I know you said NY and Washington but I don't have a job this summer and after next week im done my summer class. After that I've got three months of nothing to do. heck even if its volunteer work I'd love to help.

Good to know you and Accountability Now are working hard to keep on the pressure
any huge updates we should know about on Accountability Now?
:D
Funny how liberals shoudln't be high ranking military officials making anti-torture policy since we'll never join the military and yet here is here is Krauthammer, someone who isnt in the military, proclaiming when torture is necessary.
