• What does this prove?

  I freely admit I'm skeptical of the govt's involvement, or lack thereof, in 9/11. I feel bad that I can easily believe our govt could have a hand in this immense and incredible tragedy.

  It doesn't escape my notice for a second that the whole thing was excrutiatingly convenient to focus our attention on safety and terrorism, divert our attention away from the other issues such as greed, corruption, cronyism, pandering to big business, the wealthy-elite, and political lobbyists, and cover-up the (likely) real oil-based agenda for war...

  I don't have any doubt that if it suited somebody's grand purpose that an election or two couldn't be bought and rigged-- some terrorists that we already knew, have funded, supplied, and armed in the past could have been contacted and convinced-- that a grand plan to wrest at least temporary control away from unsuspecting, trusting American peoples-- to further some long-term goal or business objective.

  After all its rather convenient that the terrorists were in fact people we already knew, had trained, dealt-with before, supplied with weapons, goods and specialized military intelligence. And that we ended-up going to war with a country that really had nothing to do with it-- and that those self-same terrorists and aforementioned country were cronies and advesaries of the now-current president's _FATHER_, who as a former-head of the CIA had (and likely still has) enormouse power and influence and access to global information.

  I am really dismayed that I can so readily believe such a plot could exist by the people we charge with the operation and administration of our national business and affairs, and trust to keep us safe and provide for our national defense.

  I don't even have to get drunk first. I can believe it all stone-cold sober.

  I don't believe a missle hit the pentagon-- nor do I believe there was dynamite in the world trade center. I don't think it had to be that outlandish. A couple of quiet conversations, some covert cash exchanging hands, some convenient intelligence leaking here and there. A lapse or two at a resupply and weapons facility. And a plan... or just the outline of a plan.

  I don't think it had to be a huge thing. I don't think a lot of people had to know. I don't think there is a conspiracy on a grand scale. Just a few clandestine people here and there and the right resources dropped into the right hands. After all, doesn't our military train small groups of people to accomplish great and terrible things with just a few resources??? Why is it such a stretch to believe that a few people could achieve something terrible _against_ us?

  I want to believe that our govt is innocent of these charges-- I want to believe that our leaders are doing the right thing and have our best interests at heart.

  However, its very hard to believe when they are simultaneously picking my pockets clean, selling me down the river, pissing on my back and telling me its raining, and stealing my future and sending it overseas, while making sure they have fat-cat pensions and golden parachutes.

  This video-- the one released by the dod of the pentagon-- doesn't really tell me anything. Assuming the video camera is typical and records 30-60 frames a second, and the airplane travelled 500 miles per hour into the building, you could expect it to record 2-3 clear frames of what hit it. When I look at the video, all I see is a little white blob, which to my eyes looks way too small to be a jet-- and only one frame is captured before it all goes kablooey.

  I don't want to be a conspiracist. And I didn't really disbelieve that a passenger jet was flown into the pentagon anyway. It seems plausible to me that it could happen. But the video released today doesn't help me understand what happened-- rather when I see it for myself, I am further mystified because it doesn't seem right. I am happy to listen to explanations-- would like to understand the angle, and somebody's account for why it looks so small-- like a cruise missle with wings-- how hard would it be to paint a cruise missle with American Airlines livery anyway?

  I don't really believe in a cruise missle. I think it happened the way they said-- a plane hit the building. Even if there was a conspiracy for 9/11, I don't really doubt the explanation of what hit the pentagon. But you couldn't prove it by me by watching the video. How about some of those _other_ videos that got confiscated and buried??? Like the ones from the Sheraton Hotel across the street? What do they show?

  What damn difference does it make what she wore? What color jacket or makeup she had on? She didn't _investigate_ the news, she didn't _write_ the stories. She's just a talking head paid megabucks to sit there and read a teleprompter. Sheeesh. What the heck are the pundits supposed to say anyway?? "Gee, she was able to keep up with the teleprompter with no problems." or "I watched her for the whole show and she did a great job of looking into the right camera." I mean, come-on. Its just news. The real news is done by people out in the field who WORK for a living. Couric is just a face that people know from another dumb show on TV. People put way too much emphasis on this shit. If you want something important to talk about-- let's talk about Iraq, Iran, how the Republicans are busy stealing America, the Economy, Outrageous gas prices, How corporations are busy selling us down the river and sending our jobs everywhere else.... there's so many WORTHWHILE things to talk about. Screw Katie Couric. She looked okay. Read the words the way she was supposed to and walked away with a humongous check. What else is there to say!?!?!?!!?
