Heidi-who??
[Read the article: Why capitalism, like nature, is beyond good and evil]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Call me ig'nrnt of the finer points of economics on the grand scale but the basic myth that we believe business is "just business" and "Capitalism" is something akin to nature is not taking into account that WE - people - form the very basis of that endeavor.
People may act like nature at times... without thought to the good or bad - just the now. We tend to label them sociopaths.
We should not hide behind the justification of "It's just business" next time we screw somebody out their pension fund or retirment package.

George, George, George.... (sigh)
[Read the article: Bush on the lesson of Vietnam: Stay longer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Can you get any more feeble-minded about history and the world at large?!?!
Christ-on-a-crutch! It sounds like you are writing your own speeches now.
-
"Didn't Pull Out Soon Enough!"
[Read the article: Bush on the lesson of Vietnam: Stay longer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Babs said to George Sr.
-
Lefty-Righty... doesn't matter to the orphans
[Read the article: The waning power of the War Myth]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The message can come from the Left or the Right or the Center. The point is Mr. Bush has created far more havoc in a region where havoc may not be far from the norm... but in going to "WAR" against Hussein and his "WMDs" he has nurtured a generation that will (may) grow up to despise America and align themselves with the next prick (ala Bin Laden, et al) who will call for our destruction.
If he'd been brutally honest about his intentions to topple Hussein do you think Congress would've given him carte blanc?? HELL NO.
People are still dying, every day, every hour that this President calls himself the War President.
Shameful.

Soviet Era Justice
[Read the article: Interviews with AP executives on the Bilal Hussein travesty]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I would read about the Soviets when I was a kid and how their trials and detentions of people who did not toe the party line was such a sham... never in my wildest dreams did I think our country would emulate such behavior.
How naive I was.
-
A Rose by Any Other Name...
[Read the article: John McCain's revisionist history]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Would not smell of bullshit the way McCain and that lying bastard Rove do on the Charlie Rose program! Amazing that short term memory is striking someone so young as boy-Karl... not suprising that Mr. McCain can't remember his position from one week to the next.
Charlie Rose must be setting them up for something - giving them such a platform to spew such BS.
-
Brikbat - your Mother would be proud...
[Read the article: Covering up the trail of dead Iraqis]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...if she meant to raise an arrogant, insensitive, ignorant ass.
-
Horrible Truths
[Read the article: Covering up the trail of dead Iraqis]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Like Voltaire said... you can't murder on your own - you need the government to make you legit.
Brikbat - my apologies for a personal attack. The article and the enduring lies we face about this "war" make for short nerves.
-
Not a Debate - a Farce
[Read the article: What you missed while watching "Chad Vader"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thanks Salon for taking one for the team.
-
Huckawhat??
[Read the article: Where does faith drive Huckabee?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Did he just propose that we go toward socialized medicine???
It's apparent he doesn't care for public education though.
-
VOICE OVER!!!
[Read the article: "Come here, Barney. Yeah, you come here"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Please! Someone do a over-dub soon!! This is ripe for a treatment!
Now I need a treatment having watched most of it. =|
-
Mercenaries vs. Civilians... who's going to lose??
[Read the article: Blackwater in Baghdad: "It was a horror movie"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The CPA rules are crap - made up by a bunch of soulless bastards who couldn't give a damn about normal people trying to go about their daily lives. Blackwater ought to be Black-listed.
We, as a nation, ought to be enormously ashamed that we have given the reigns of power over to private firms who - in our names - murder innocent civilians.
Rumsfeld, the current Pentagon command and heads of the State Dept. ought to be brought up on charges of treason.
-
FAITH Shall Set You Free!!
[Read the article: Huckabee and criminals: It's worse than just Wayne DuMond]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joe - come, join the multitude who choose faith over reason. It's easy! You don't have to be held accountable ('cause God will forgive you anyway) and you don't have to think for yourself ('cause there's some people will do it for you) and you get sex whenever you want (albeit with hookers, naive boys or in airport restrooms)!!!
Funny how that works.
-
Sarcasm and Irony
[Read the article: The Decider? He's really more like the Magi]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm pretty sure Hillary had to be saying she'd send that yukaputz sarcastically... or maybe just a good way to get him out of the country for awhile.
Things have been known to happen to idiots while they travel abroad! =]
-
Unmasked Ambition
[Read the article: The knives come out in South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Clinton's disingenuous attack on Obama's Reagan reference was totally uncalled for. You could see that she'd be holding that in her head to hurl when the opportunity arose. That is a telling mark against her.
Edwards is looking better all the time.
CNN's staging was interesting in that it put RED behind Obama.
-
Put the Democratic Party to Pasture
[Read the article: Will the Democratic presidential candidates adhere to their rhetoric?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Time for a new party - call it The Progressive Party. Take the few Dems who have any shred of spine left and recruit a couple of the GOP who seem to have at least some sense of decency and move forward!
The whole argument over appearing "SOFT" on Terrorism is so incomprehensible. One does not protect us from terrorists by taking away our rights and liberties... one only propagates the lies of the storyline we've been force fed these last many years.
-
Bolt-on Testicles
[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Somebody please remind this guy he's now a private citizen and does not speak for the government!! ...oh silly me - I forgot who's in charge.
Why is he such a hater?
-
Sounding More Republican Every Day!!
[Read the article: The "plagiarism" problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary, Hillary, Hillary... you accuse Obama of lack of substance yet here you are trying desperately to redefine what political speech is all about. Words do matter... especially when they resonate with the people that are listening!
-
AND ANOTHER THING!
[Read the article: The "plagiarism" problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]These tactics have the stench of Rove. THAT is a sad, sad thing.
-
Religion in Politics... or how Alien vs. Predator made babies
[Read the article: Interview with Bill Donohue: Catholic League denounces McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Normally I view Donohue as a blow-hard, reactionary, self-absorbed tough guy thumping his chest about how Catholisismsmmmn (sp?) is under siege and it's not fair that others have views he does not share.
I still do.
However - for McCain to keep grasping for support of people that view others as something you might scrape off your shoe is simply pathetic - and shows his true colors as Panderer extraordinare.
Here's an idea... let's schedule the Rapture sooner than later!
-
Those Swing the Biggest Sticks...
[Read the article: War cheerleaders ask: "Is Obama man enough to be president?"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Always seem to have the smallest dicks.
George may have big balls - but that's probably because he had that flight suit cinched up so tight it caused irrational swelling.
The ability to think clearly and the unwillingness to send others out to die ought be the mark of real men.
We all know we'd think differently of the WAR-Hawks if they were out front (literally) leading the charge.
