if you want to sell it

Wow, you're right. I just check the price of my Rev A iMac G5 20" on ebay. Very nice.

I don't usually sell my computers though. I end up spreading the goodness of Apple by giving my older computers away to family. That way my kids can use iChat with their grandparents and cousins. They end up purchasing Macs when it comes time for new computers.

Boeing almost made the ugliest airliner

i came across this in wikipedia, something called the "Hunchback of Mukilteo", that combined a 767 with the aft portion of the 757. this would have really looked out of place. i'm glad someone came to their senses and canned it.

NWA Airbus 330

i recently visited my parents in Hawaii, and dreaded having to fly Northwest. It's usually a cramped 757 with surly attendants. However, I was pleasantly surprised flying back on the A-330. I have an 8 and 4 year old with me, and load up on video for our sony PSP, and plenty of games for the nintendo DS. The A330 had the linux-driven on demand audio and video system. My boys are seasoned travelers, and they have always been quiet and polite, but video system added an extra measure of sanity to the flight. And I think the flight attendants were much nicer because of it. i look forward to new and creative ways to make travel less painful.

i would gladly pay extra for comfort, but buying tickets is such a lottery. It's possible to pay twice as much for the exact same seat. I wish for a saner system, where the airlines can make some money, and where customers can travel with some dignity.

btw, i enjoyed the audio portion.... they had a great playlist of new alternative music. that really made my trip.

Vasectomies

Urologists and Family Practice physicians perform vasectomies. I have yet to meet a General Surgeon who does vasectomies. By the way, this is the sterilization I recommend for all of my patients (I'm an OB/GYN). :)

Electoral Vote

both the right (http://www.electionprojection.com/index.shtml) , and left (http://www.electoral-vote.com/) show Obama with an incredible lead over McCain if you look at the electoral college vote. obviously, this will not sell page-views and newspapers. the MSM need food on their table too.

Disney Marketing Sex to Kids?

Although the innuendo in question here may have been unintended, Disney has a long history of marketing sex to kids. From all the tiny-waisted princesses waiting for their princes to the Disney Channel shows for tweens, Disney actively cultivates sexual stereotypes. We stopped watching the Disney channel when a cartoon on "The House of Mouse" portrayed Mickey Mouse saving Minnie from a date rape. I realized I wasn't the only crazed parent out there when I heard a commentary from Dan Savage (the author of a sex advice column), who found the sexualized behavior of one of the boys on "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" to be one of the most objectionable stereotypes he had seen.

The movies of Hayao Miyazaki manage to portray strong girls in stories that captivate my kids. Could we see a little more of that please?

the modern Miyamoto Musashi

Miyamoto Musashi was a man of humble beginnings, who became a master of the two sword technique. He was also an author, poet and painter. Very appropriate symbol for our President.
