And where's the media on this???
[Read the article: What Clinton once said about tax returns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why aren't reporters asking Clinton and Wolfson about this blatant display of hypocrisy?
Too afraid you'll be called meanies, I'm guessing, by the Hillary camp, which has successfully scared you into timidity.
-
Are you an idiot, or do you just play one on Salon??
[Read the article: Some free advice for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Mr. Conason,
It's not only the Clintons' 2007 tax returns that are in question.
Seriously, are you so blinded in your zeal on behalf of HRC that you are willing to put your journalistic credibility (such as it is) on the line???
As someone pointed out on TV earlier this evening, it's not like she has to go on Turbo Tax and do her taxes. She just needs to call her accountant -- or team of accountants, more likely -- and ask them to, you know, XEROX her most recent tax returns.
As for your free advice for Obama, please do feel free to extend the same courtesy to the Clintons. Ask them to share the records on the donors to the Clinton Presidential Library.
Ask them how, if Hillary has spent 35 years in selfless public service, she had $5 million at her disposal to lend to her campaign.

Hey, Joan Walsh, how are you feeling about your girl now?
[Read the article: Ferraro resigns from Clinton campaign]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]From Joan Walsh, preeminent HRC apologist, there's only been the sound of crickets lately.
In light of the Ferraro brouhaha, and HRC's weak response to it, what do you think of your candidate now?
-
@ Asher
[Read the article: Ferraro resigns from Clinton campaign]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oh for heaven's sake: Are you really saying that a black man in America has so many advantages?
Sure, that's why Obama, if elected, would be the 20th black American president.
Oh wait ... he'd be the first?
Never mind that point then.
As for him getting so much of the black vote, what would you expect? The Clinton campaign has insulted and appalled large swathes of the African-American community.
They're not voting for her now, because she doesn't deserve their vote.
And should she manage to steal the nomination, they won't vote for her in the general election, either, such is the depth of the revulsion toward her tactics. And she can't win the general election without the African-American vote.
-
Overblown?
[Read the article: Reexamining the Ferraro fracas]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Like your writing, you mean? Or Salon's sense of its own relevance, now diminished by its blatant support for HRC?
Because surely you aren't saying that Democrats, many of us former Clinton -- and yes, even Ferraro -- supporters weren't over-reacting to the appalling racism and simmering rage in Ferraro's rant?
She didn't merely put forth this ridiculous point to the Daily Breeze. She also said it to Fox.
I am a white, middle-class feminist. I have watched in sadness as one after another of my feminist heroes has been subsumed by anger over the prospect of Hillary Clinton losing to an upstart (you may wish to substitute a synonym also beginning with "up" here) African-American man.
Once upon a time we all were on the same side. Hillary and her divisive tactics now have us on opposite sides of an abyss.
I used to tell friends that I'd vote for a tuna casserole, before I voted for a Republican.
Sadly, if HRH (as in Her Royal Highness) steals the nomination, I'll be sitting out the election. I just cannot endorse her embrace of a Southern strategy, or her Bush-like reluctance to apologize or accept responsibility.

What a shock
[Read the article: Was Obama's speech enough?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joan Walsh doesn't think Barack Obama went far enough in explaining his relationship with Rev. Wright.
I have to respectfully ask Ms. Walsh: Has Hillary Clinton gone far enough in explaining the dramatic increase in her family's personal wealth since they left the White House?
Will Joan Walsh ask this same question of Hillary?
I'm guessing not.

Why won't the media cover Clinton's Bosnia sniper fire lie?
[Read the article: "Clinton will not be able to win the nomination"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dear Ms. Walsh and Mr. Koppelman,
Riddle me this: Why is Hillary Clinton's blatant lie about landing in Bosnia, under sniper fire, receiving such scant coverage in the mainstream media?
Are you media folks afraid of the Clintons? Or are you just extending the same courtesy to Hillary as you extended to W. in the runup to the Iraq War?
(And by "courtesy," I mean, laying down, like lazy kitty cats.)
Wearing a shamrock-motif scarf -- perfect for an occasion, in which she was delivering blarney -- Hillary Clinton insisted last week that when she landed in Tuzla as First Lady, it was so dangerous that there was no landing ceremony. It was so dangerous that she and her party were advised to run from their armored plane to their cars.
Alas, contemporaneous video footage shows that there was no sniper fire -- instead, the First Lady was greeted on the tarmac by a little Bosnian girl, and a gaggle of other folks. No one was running. Everyone was smiling.
Had Barack Obama been caught in such a ridiculous lie, we'd be seeing that footage 24/7.
So what of it? Why are you so afraid?
-
@Chanayut
[Read the article: "It is possible ... that she misspoke"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]True that.
"We interrupt this 24/7 broadcast of Rev. Wright's crazy talk, for this public service announcement: When Hillary Clinton lies, remember, she is just misspeaking. Now, we return to our regularly scheduled broadcast ..."

Wow, Alex, you couldn't wait, could you?
[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You couldn't wait to get that Hillary/Bosnia story off the front page of Salon, right?
Pathetic.
-
Admonish??? ADMONISH??
[Read the article: Reid, Pelosi get entangled in the presidential race]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You meant to write, "extort," "threaten," or "blackmail," right?
-
@sonofloud
[Read the article: Obama-Bloomberg '08?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You're kidding, right, with that list of Obama friends?
Do the names "Norman Hsu" or "Peter Paul" ring a bell?
The New Republic ran an article headlined "With friends like these," which detailed the list of Hillary donors who have been indicted, or convicted, or linked to shady characters. The list is a doozy.
Oh, and as for Rezko, Obama recently sat down with the staff of the Chicago Tribune, and agreed to answer any and all questions about his ties to Rezko.
When the interview was over, the Tribune -- a conservative-leaning paper -- ran a glowing editorial about Obama's openness.
When is Hillary going to sit down and allow someone other than Greta van Susteren or Richard Mellon Scaife to grill her about her ties to shady donors?
