boundries

Are you dating or living together? If he doesn't want to commit, then change the boundries. You don't have to give up on the relationship, just be realistic. Tell him he can't store his things at your house. Don't let him sleep there most nights, etc. Make it a dating relationship. You make plans, meet or one picks the other up & you go someplace on a date. Start there & see where it goes.

Personally, I think it's far too soon for this man to commit to another woman. He still has to heal from the last relationship. 17 years and children is a huge committment, with or without marriage. He recognizes that he's not ready, now the LW needs to accept it & move on. Basically the LW is providing aid and comfort to a man in pain, but it doesn't sound as though that is what she wants to be doing. She just needs to recognize this & it's much easier to do from a distance. So get him out of the house.

So.....

As Press Secretary, will Snow get to make things up there too?

More information

I, too, received an email from Planned Parenthood about this issue. It's one of their call to action email alerts. This item in Broadsheet did a nice job of raising the alarm but missed the rest of ths story.

"Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) recently introduced the Stop Deceptive Advertising for Women's Services Act, which would require the Federal Trade Commission to enforce truth-in-advertising standards for fake "clinics" or so-called "crisis pregnancy centers" (CPCs). "

Here are two links to info on the PP site:

Love the show

I fell for Scrubs with the first episode way back when and every season I can only hope it will be back in the fall. As for the stunt casting, I have to admit that half the time I don't even know who these people are...like Elizabeth Banks.

Incensed

"I can't remember the last time I saw a Catholic priest wielding a censer (or if he did wield one, know how to use it correctly)"

They seem to be very popular in funeral masses. I, myself, don't attend mass any more, other than marriages & funerals, so there may be other events that bring out the incense.

Silence

I think it's safe to say that, at the very least, Mr. Leopold needs to get himself some new sources.

Invasion

I've loved Invasion since day one. Sheriff Underlay is right on the edge of good and bad. Remembering American Gothic, I can't help but think that Shaun Cassidy has a thing for charasmatic on the edge sheriffs (though it was never in doubt that Sheriff Buck was evil).

Last night's Invasion finale was different that most episodes. The multiple shoot outs that seemed to go on too long was one difference. But we did get to see most of our favorite characters and there are still questions to be answered (if they ever will be seems to be in doubt). But that scene where the uniformed people were herding the townspeople from a warehouse into the water was grim and immediately evoked Holocaust images. Also, we "think" Tom killed Szura but keep in mind that he's a hybrid & they don't die that easily. After all it would a shame to kill of the deliciously menacing James Frain.

Disconnect

There seems to be a disconnect here. There are people willing to pay big bucks to say they were in the same room with with the President but the people who will benefit from this are afraid to be in the same room with the President. I guess the unfortunate reality (for the hidees) is that the people who give the big bucks only have one vote to give and there aren't enough of them.

Thank you.

This is a good example of the reason I read Cary. I don't care much about the letter writers' problems. Over the years it's become clear to me that we all have the same types of problems just with slightly differing details. But it's Cary's responses that are worth reading. He often provides me with a new perspective. Thank you, Cary.

All Female

I have used both co-ed & all female gyms & I prefer all female. It has nothing to do with with leering eyes or being uncomfortable having anyone look at me in my gym clothes.

In my experience, women just tend to be more considerate when it comes to sharing equipment. I couldn't count the number of times in the co-ed place that I had to wait for a man to do his 3 sets on a machine with the apparently required waiting time between them spent sitting on the machine doing nothing. They (of course, I'm overgeneralizing, but I'm on a roll) like to claim the machine until they've completed their routine. Women will get off the machine between sets & allow someone else to use it. I've also witnessed many more men than women who hog a machine by sitting on equipment chatting with some other guy who stopped by to say hi. Get off the freaking machine & let someone else use it!

Sioux

Her heart was in the righp place, but, sadly, I knew this was coming. A few weeks ago NPR had a piece on her intent to start a clinic & spoke with someone in her tribe who claimed that it was illegal to perform abortions on the reservation based on some prevailing tribal document.

Who

I never heard of this guy. One nice thing about reading Salon is that I'm at times introduced to people/concepts/things I've never run across. I read the interview and will admit that I'm not interested enough to read Maddox, but thanks anyways.

Everything

I can't offer any dating advice, but I feel I should warn you that you'll never have everything you want...at least not all at the same time. It's just life.
