Ailes, unruffled, said it might not have been this way if Obama had more willingly come on the air instead of so often giving Fox the back of his hand.
So what happened? Did Roger send out an all network memo saying Obama is fair game for smears? Nice journalism. I particularly liked the terrorist fist bump smear. What a bunch of yahoos.
Having said, that I will force myself to watch just in the hopes that Obama puts Billo in his place.
I get the feeling that McCain doesn't like getting upstaged. I wonder how this will work out in the long run.
Salon Readers Are Pathetic Sissy Girls
written by "CrazyLarry", as Salon reader.
BTW, that insult might carry more weight if it weren't gender specific. A fair percentage of Salon readers are female, though most aren't pathetic or sissy.
Watch a couple episodes of Nanny 911.
Cary, this insightful and inspiring response from you belongs in the next book. Mark it down.
You need to find a better class of boyfriend and then you need to work on raising your self-esteem level. Maybe the self-esteem should come first otherwise you'll end up with the same low class sort of guy.
Also, take a self-defense class to learn how to deal with gropers.
A former Clinton supporter who is now supporting McCain. Doesn't that make her one of those PUMA people?
On the other side, Michelle Obama was on Paula Dean Saturday night. There were no hard hitting questions there either. I think you have to be realistic with expectations based on the host/interviewer. Rachelle Ray is a very different animal than the women on The View.
Slightly OT. When & why did the language go from "bailout" to "rescue?" I heard it used on NPR last evening and this AM most of the 24 news channels have started using "rescue" rather than "bail out." I think they're all trying to soften the perception to get the public behind it. Didn't Limbaugh, or was it O'Reilly, suggest this change in lingo on Monday?
Who has acromegaly?
And, of course, it was more than one person or one McCain/Palin event.
I haven't seen "Crash", either the movie or the TV show, but the first time I saw the Hopper commericial for the show I thought it was just another of his Ameriprise retirement commercials. Until it went on and on and on.
Wow, that was really basic. You weren't kidding.
Speaking of preemptive spin: Scarborough and his crew were at it this election day morning. I only watched a few minutes as I got ready for work. He turned to Harold Ford and asked if he agreed that the first thing Obama would have to do is meet with Pelosi, Reid and Barney Frank (he called them the more liberal of the bunch) and set them straight. Ford invoked the notion that American is center right. I couldn't take anymore & turned it off.
I tuned in to Fox last night just in time to hear Fred Barnes’ diatribe against early voting, only to see it turn into a very funny moment (for all but Fred) when most of the panel asked him when he voted. Apparently Fred Barnes voted early via an absentee ballot. After making an awkward effort to join in on the fun, Fred clarified his position. He claimed he voted early for a legitimate reason; he wasn’t going to be in his home district on election day. He was against early voting merely for convenience. Apparently Fred doesn’t believe voting should be convenient, except for people like him. Sounds familiar.
Glenn Beck was in my small city last weekend peddling some new book he's written. All of a sudden the Fairness Doctrine pops up in a local news channel report. The anchor used the "some say" line. They interviewed Beck and a local media analyst but never interviewed or mentioned by name any of these mysterious people in the new administration that they think want to bring it back. They stated that local congresswoman Lousie Slaughter had tried in 2005, but they didn't contact her office to find out her current intentions. But, after the report aired on TV, Slaughter's office did contact them with a statement from the Congresswoman in which she stated she was more concerned with media ownership rules. The station included her statement in repeat airings of the piece.
If interested you can read a report here http://tinyurl.com/5b8mlo
They also have video footage that includes Beck.
I remember reading a piece in Salon long ago about the Brazilian coming into fashion in the US. Wow, times flies, as the saying goes. And it's true, if you wait long enough everything comes back into fashion. Glad I waited it out.

Salon's been publishing this kind of thing all along. I'm not sure where the outrage is coming from. Just do a search on a few choice words & you'll see. The only difference is that "letters to the editor" feature wasn't around then.

Wait a minute. The Governor appoints the person to fill the Senate seat, and while Caroline has been touted as a top pick now we read that the Governor is cool on her as a choice. My local radio station (I live in NY) had a piece that also said he wasn't interested in her.
As for that other lady who wanted to be senator that Sharpton mentioned, as I recall she actually had to run for the seat. The voters chose her.
If you go to Norm Coleman's Senate website you'll see this splashed across the top in bold letters "The Office of Norm Coleman is Closed."
