If I wanted to get rid of an entire sales department, I would just close the department. You only use this “doubling standards” tactic if you need to get rid of people and you do not have evidence to show that they had bad performance. But in America, you usually do not need to do this; you want to get rid of the sales department, you just get rid of them.
A lot of question come up from your post.
1. Why get rid of the sales department? That’s usually one of last things you get rid of, as sales brings in money and development.
2. How is the past performance of this sales department before?
3. Did they enforce a policy in the past such that if sales people missed quotas, then they were fired? (or put on probation?)
4. Are there laws in the US which would prevent giving unemployment insurance to those who were fired because of documented poor performance?
It would seem that if the answer to question #1 is “The company /division is closing down”, and the answers to questions #3 , #4 are both “Yes”, then quite clearly the company is trying to cheat the workers. And this policy had to have come from upper-management. Tell your friend to lawyer – up.
If the answer to question #2 is “not so good”, then this becomes more complicated. I have recommended to my clients doubling of sales quotas before…because previous sales quotas were so light they were meaningless. I have in the past also raised the quotas of my team by 100%. If a sales manager is too “sensitive” to the sales people under-him, sometimes they set goals too low so that he / she can be the “nice guy”. If the first year the product was on the market was a “trial period” for a new product, then there may be higher expectations. Usually management should explain this to the sales people.
If the answer to question #3 is “No”, then quite possibly management is simply using this as an opportunity to create performance by creating more pressure. That’s not the way I would run the sales team, but whatever.
So is the company Motorola?
#1. Your title "ashkeNAZI..." is racist and insulting. Ashkenazi is a racial sub-type of Jew. By mixing this up with the world NAZI, you are suggesting *I* am a NAZI because of my race. So, right away, I think you are a stupid pathetic idiot; it is in this light that I read the rest of your post.
#2 "'Bombers'? You mean the people willing to die for their freedom and land,"
By this you show that, in your opinion, if someone is fighting for their land, they should not be labeled "terrorists" even if they target civilians. Wow. This line of reasoning sounds rather morally incompetent.
#3 "And Sderot? It''s an Israeli town built upon a stolen Arab village...one which has ample shelters."
This exemplifies an argument you and others make that Israel's response was disproportionate. But what is interesting is that you again show that you feel it is ok to target civilians, and you are also showing that, as the Israelis are materially better-off (by having bomb-shelters), its not a big deal to spread terror by lobbing bombs.
#4"despite Englanders somehow maintaining decorum during the bombings of London..."
Idiot.
#5" Israel was created on land already occupied by Arabs. If that's okay,...What was wrong with Aryans taking whatever Jewish property...?"
Israel was created on a land that was occupied by Arabs and Jews. I don't need to read a history book to know this fact. My family moved to Israel in 1890, after they were kicked out of Ukrain during the pogroms. Conflict between Jews and Arabs existed in Palestine for nearly 50 years before the creation of the Israeli state and during a time that the territory was owned by England. Yet somehow you say this was a land that was stolen. This is something I hate about you ignorant non-Arab Israel bashers...you don't know the history and yet you talk shite.
BTW. The United States didn't give substantial aid to Israel until near the end of the 1973 Yom Kippur war. The Arab states around Israel received far more aid from the Soviet Union. And quite a few autocratic, non-democratic Muslim countries receive much more aid than Israel. How come you don't complain about that?
#6 Last of all..."I also suspect antisemitism will spread. You can't call yourself the "Jewish State" and not have the world view your acts as reflecting Judaism."
So let me ask...do the actions of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia,, Malasia, etc ... reflect on Islam? Because if you you think that the actions of Israel reflect on Jews, then you are already anti-semitic.
...because they are afraid it will not live up to your memories...take heart.
The show still holds up. Its still fun. Its still great.
However, if you saw it when you were really young (I watched it when I was 5 - 7 years old, in 1975-1977, before Star Wars), you will be shocked...James T. tries to seduce everyone. My Japanese wife saw ST:TOS for the first time a few months ago. She pointed out that the Captain is very bi and very good looking.
I hate stories like this about 6/4. Nostalgic and incomplete.
6/4 protesters were not pro-democracy protesters. It was not a pro-democracy demonstration.
I do not say this to undermine the accomplishments of those students (and the vastly more numerous workers and common people who supported the students). I do not say this to diminish the significance of the massacre. On the contrary, I believe that understanding the truth does honor to those who have died.
As for the protectors now... well... some of them are exiled around the world. But the vast majority of the student protesters are now managers and leaders in China's foreign invested companies. And they are rich.
