The Tables are Turned!
[Read the article: Ask the Pilot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Mr. Smith has written countless columns hammering home the idea that 99 percent of what passengers see and hear is harmless. For this I am thankful. As a frequent flyer I've heard a lot of strange things and I'm always happy to read that they are essentially trivial.
There always seems to be sense of disbelief on Mr. Smith's part that rational passengers can get excited about events that are so mundane to a seasoned pilot. That is what made this column so great for me. "The Pilot" freaked out by a compressor stall? A little voice inside telling you that you are going to die? Welcome to the club, Mr. Smith.

No jobs = terrible society?
[Read the article: Is women's studies dead?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"And if being a feminist doesn't lead to a job, doesn't that suggest that society is still perhaps just a wee bit patriarchal?"
Seriously? Do you know anyone with a degree in sociology? Or history? Not many jobs there either, for men or women.
