Ya can't have it both ways, Mike.`

If you use the same metric here that was used to proclaim Obama won against McCain, then Palin wins in a landslide. Quit trying to move the bar for the sake of political expedience.

it IS flip

and they should all be fired. they dont care a single bit about the american people...but then again, they dont rely on 401ks...not when you marry a billionaire pharma dude.

Monday, September 29, 2008 12:31 PM

way to go Pelosi

two thumbs up...oh wait, not thumbs.

Sunday, September 28, 2008 07:32 PM

talk about a hack...

Ed 'Superhack' McClelland - did Salon find you at a SF homeless shelter and offer you soup and NightTrain to write this junk? Go back to your day job of puking in your beard.

Friday, September 26, 2008 11:56 AM

Dear Joe -

You are a coward and a fool. You have only proven that you are unfit to write, even for the spin-laden shill palace that has become Salon.

Thursday, September 25, 2008 07:06 PM

wait

what's Obama's foreign policy experience again?

Seriously, Koppelman, let's hear it...

Thursday, September 25, 2008 06:48 PM

Hmm

Im pretty sure that Harry Reid 'hurts the process.' Am I the only one who is sick of the do-nothing Democrat-led Congress?

Wednesday, September 24, 2008 02:33 PM

Harry Reid...blowhard

Seriously, why would both party's chosen leader 'not be helpful' in attempting to solve a Nation wide economic crisis?

Oh that's right, because the Dems don't give a crap about the country...they would rather let people suffer and let the economy crash than intercede...because face it, if they help to fix it, they can't politicize it -

gross dereliction of duty

Wednesday, September 24, 2008 02:26 PM

sorry Joan

You are way off on this one. The election is about leadership, responsibility and de-politicking Washington. Both candidates are US Senators- they have an obligation to the people to fix this...not on Inauguration day, but right now. We are paying them for it...not to run for office or president of the world. It's all well and good to take potshots at McCain from the safe haven of San Francisco, but far too many people are suffering - some irreparably - and don't have time to wait until after the election. All I see these days are the likes of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi fiddling while the world burns...because it helps their party's election chances.

Whether you like it or not, Joan - this is leadership, not cowardice. Though you'd be hard pressed to find a difference in today's Washington.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008 12:22 PM

UGH

John - you are a dope. He isn't backing out, he is suspending his campaign to go back to Washington to try and hammer out agreements for the financial crisis. You know...leadership...what they are PAID to do...No word on Obama's call yet but I do expect him to follow suit - after all, it is MORE important than campaigning. (yet somehow doesn't merit mention from Salon...just ignore it Alex, and it's just like it hasn't happened...how do you guys keep your jobs?)

Tuesday, September 23, 2008 03:32 PM

Kimiya is at it again...

Gary,

What a shameless piece of ill-supported propaganda. Could you even keep a straight face while hammering this 'article' out? You aren't speaking to the independent voters...you don't even know where to begin. The sheer fact that you put forward this poorly structured propaganda piece under the guise of helping assist the undecided is further proof that you just don't get it at all. The people you are 'reaching out' to aren't stupid although you believe them to be. We all understand politics as usual and we know that that is exactly what we are getting from both sides. Your overzealous approach to selling Obama (as well as that of your co-'writers') does the candidate more harm than good. This piece of 'work' is just more of the same - calling the swing voters and fly-over voters stupid because they fail to see just how awesome and right you and the Democrats are...who wouldn't want to vote for such humble people. The false armor of change has simply fallen off of your candidate...you just can't keep try to mask inexperience with catch phrases and slogans.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008 09:01 AM

thanks for clearing that up Schaller...

I'm sure both McCain and Biden were waiting for your take on the situation. Seriously though - best thing you've ever written

Original article: Palin takes a tumble

I see...

So NOW the polls are reliable...but when Obama was behind they were erratic. Wow.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 02:47 PM

hmmm...

well, Alex, you are right again. This convoluted ad strategy will make all Hispanics forget the whole pro-life thing,

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 12:11 PM

right Koppleman

because the NAME makes you elitist? because it SOUNDS elitist?

seriously man, think about what you write before writing it...if it is all in the name, then what about the Demo candidates middle name?

Friday, September 12, 2008 05:03 PM

zzzz

'Cause the view is where most Americans go for news coverage. This desperate media strategy is sickening. Y'all just seem pissed that someone called you out as being biased. Garbage like the view just drives the point home with middle America. The funny thing is that the Uberprogressives, having basically hijacked the Democratic Party in 2004, don't seem to notice the media's savage complicity is alienating much of middle America. They watch the interviews but don't see what you see...and therein lies the problem. As you parade about like the 2007 New England Patriots...wearing fake crowns and celebrating your impending victory with hearty pats-on-the-back you fail to realize that people are starting to pull for the other guy...remember, America LOVES an underdog...and right now the only difference between McCain and an underdog is lipstick.

Original article: Making a mockery of 9/11

@ Joan

Dear Joan,

Some of the worst sexists are women. A club, I am afraid to say, you've just joined. The Democratic party that I used to love has become one big, empty promise. This year's campaign has taken zealotry, ignorance and pandering to new heights among the liberal progressive set.

Thursday, September 11, 2008 04:12 PM

holy shit Koppelman

Can you even read? I know that your bread and butter here is making something out of nothing but this is pretty thin even for you. You should consider surgery to remove your head from your ass.

Thursday, September 11, 2008 08:16 AM
Original article: Drill, baby, drill

they probably aren't making noise about it....

Because they are just as involved. To a man, crooks. One and all.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008 03:51 PM

Well...

At least SOMEONE acknowledges it...
