Glenn, I've been an admirer of your writing for years now, but this is truly just the tip of the iceberg regarding the 9/11 Commission's failures.

General Mahmoud Ahmad, the Director of the Pakistani ISI at the time of 9/11 is known to have wired $100,000 to one of Mohammad Atta's bank accounts in Florida prior to 9/11. General Ahmad was in Washington D.C. meeting with Senator Bob Graham, the Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee on the morning of the attack. When Thomas Kean was directly questioned about this event by a 9/11 researcher, his reply was that "the funding of the attacks was immaterial to the 9/11 commission."

Glenn, foreknowledge of the attacks by the Bush Administration is a red herring. It can ultimately be blamed on incompetence.

The official story of the attacks simply doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Please, read 9/11 Contradictions: An Open Letter to Congress and the Press, by David Ray Griffin. The subtitle is directed at YOU. Please read it and respond. Griffin is a well respected scholar, who has been researching the details of 9/11 for almost 5 years now.

9/11 is the most significant event in modern history. John McCain said we could be in Iraq for 100 years. Dick Cheney has said that the War on Terror won't end "in our lifetimes". Most Americans have been perfectly willing to believe the "official conspiracy theory" of 9/11 with virtually no knowledge of the events. For example, people seem surprised to learn that WTC7, a 47 story building which housed offices of the CIA, Secret Service, and Giuliani's Emergency Bunker, collapsed symmetrically, at free fall speed, into it's own footprint at 5:20pm on 9/11, in a collapse that looked exactly like a controlled demolition. More curious is that the BBC, and a local NY station announced that it had collapsed a full 30 minutes before it did.

We know the Bush Administration has lied about virtually everything since W was "elected" in 2000, yet we accept the official 9/11 story as truth.

Take the blinders off, and investigate 9/11. Glenn, you have a brilliant, analytical mind. If you sincerely investigate the claims of the 9/11 Truth movement, you will have more questions than answers.

Don't take my word for it, learn the truth for yourself.

9/11 has become a sacred myth in our society. Questioning the sacred myth is blasphemous. It has been used as a pretext for two illegal wars, led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, the creation of a permanent military presence in the Middle East, been used to justify the use of illegal spying on American citizens, the use of torture on "enemy combatants", not to mention the loss of Habeas Corpus with the Military Commissions Act of 2006.

9/11 has been used as the pretext for an imperial expansion by the United States. If McCain and Cheney are right, and we're in Iraq for 100 years, or even 20 years, will you then consider 9/11 as significant as the 13 day Cuban Missile Crisis? or the moon landing for that matter?

The former President of Italy, Francesco Cossiga, on Nov. 30th of 2007, wrote in the newspaper of record in Italy - "Corriere della Sera" - that the European Intelligence agencies are all aware that 9/11 was carried out by the CIA and the Mossad. Google "Francesco Cossiga + 9/11".

Andreas Von Bulow, the former State Secretary of the German Ministry of Defence, also believes in our governments complicity:

"Planning the attacks was a master deed, in technical and organizational terms. To hijack four big airliners within a few minutes and fly them into targets within a single hour and doing so on complicated flight routes! That is unthinkable, without backing from the secret apparatuses of state and industry."

9/11 was a false flag event, orchestrated by elements within the US in order to justify the "War on Terror", which may last all of our lifetimes.

We all love the New Deal, but 100 years from now, 9/11 will open a chapter in history books titled: "The Oil Wars and the Decline of the United States". Hopefully, that chapter will end with a photo of Cheney being led to prison in an orange jumpsuit.

The official explanation of 9/11 is a conspiracy theory between the 19 hijackers, Osama Bin Laden and KSM, amongst others. So, simply calling alternative theories "conspiracy theories" isn't saying much.

We all agree that 9/11 was a conspiratorial act. We differ in the identity of the conspirators. One problem with the "official conspiracy theory" mentioned by Reality Based Liberal, is that several of the 19 hijackers turned out to be alive and well after the event. Doesn't that at least warrant further investigation? Don't the victims of this heinous crime deserve that at least?

Here's Air Force Colonel and Pentagon Official Karen Kwiatkwoski on questioning 9/11:

"I have been told by reporters that they will not report their own insights or contrary evaluations of the official 9/11 story, because to question the government story about 9/11 is to question the very foundations of our entire modern belief system regarding our government, our country, and our way of life. To be charged with questioning these foundations is far more serious than being labeled a disgruntled conspiracy nut or anti-government traitor, or even being sidelined or marginalized within an academic, government service, or literary career. To question the official 9/11 story is simply and fundamentally revolutionary. In this way, of course, questioning the official story is also simply and fundamentally American."
