Salon has so much content its overwhelming. But I do appreciate their choice of headline stories ranging from why I should continue to boycott Wal-Mart (3 successful years so far!) to this piece, about a sexless life after kids.
I appreciate their choices, BECAUSE I have two children, and frankly don't have the time to delve into all the content to get at something good.
Its Saturday morning, and its good to start the day with a chuckle, whilst the kids are downstairs arguing with dad over why Cheerios are round, not square.
Keep it up Salon, this is why you are paid the big bucks.

As a Canadian who has watched and listened to the rant of Dubya about protecting his borders, invoking the invasive Patriot Act, it is with pure disbelief that I hear he wants to hand over his ports to the Middle East.
Is this some kind of joke?
I can see Osama wringing his arthritic hands now at the delight of such an opportunity because whether or not the company is or is not a good company, has nothing to do with the people who are employed by it.
Further, this would make a great movie: US spends trillions of dollars to domesticate a Middle East country and beef up its security, only to hand over the reigns of his borders to the land of opposition. Cartons of Al-Quaida are unpacked in the night, planting chaos around the country. Its perfect! A blockbuster for sure! Only: It'll be rivalling Michael Moores next flick in the Documentary Oscar Awards because IT'LL BE TRUE!.
Unbelievable!
I can completely relate with this sort story of mother and daughter relationship. I have been reading Dance with Intimacy to try to understand this fragile relationship...
I have surveyed all my friends in their 30's and their moms, and it seems like this generation of moms is unable to have long lasting friendships and sustain, unguilty ones with their daughters. How can this be?
It is sad to read stories like this because unfortunately it all rings true. Moms like to drop little bombs all the time...... it is sad. All I know is that I will try to have honest, frank, and loving relationships with my sons.
Someone needs to do a huge study on the moms of the 60's and the craziness of that generation and how it has fed into the guilt of daughters in their 30's now.
I think the results would floor everyone because of the shock of it all, but also because it is so rampant.

I have been a Salon member for years but only just came across this author today? Was he always on the front page but I didn't see it?
Required but difficult reading are the articles listed here.
I especially enjoy reading updates on how and when Wal Mart will 'go down'... the updates on workers in China etc.
Please keep informing us on these most important issues. I have made a shortcut to these pages renaming it 'real salon news'
Thanks.

I find it amusing that Trump has been slinging mud against Rosie this week.
We already knew that Rosie is a large woman who makes a living mocking society. She hasn't hesitated to convey her opinion of gun laws or how a magazine with her name on it, ought to published. But what we didnt' know is that Trump is very sensitive about the public truly knowing how aspects of his business have been total failures. She merely had the brass to point out obvious aspects of his life that goto show he really ISN'T the moral compass, as his behavior is appalling. But Big Business would never want to take him on and tell him so.
After Star Jones and her behavior on Barbara's show, I don't doubt now that if Trump were a moderator on her show, BW wouldn't hesitate to fire Trump for his comments and the reason why is because his comments are apparently out of character. BW knew she was hiring a woman who could speak for the majority of women of America. Trump has surprisingly insulted a large number of women, and I look forward not to the lawsuit he plans to file, but the drop in Nielsen ratings in his shows.... and perhaps the day Mark Burnett says "You're Fired"
They got it right! The show was amusing and unpredictable!
I too thought it odd that the Producer for The Departed stood alone..... it was an awkward way to end the evening. Was no one excited? Did he make it clear he wanted the moment for himself?
I am glad that Children of Men was excluded, what a Waterworld nightmare movie that was! I couldn't help sighing through the whole thing. Even the chosen part for best editing was in the end, too long...... I almost laughed out loud when Clint made it outside and he just kept glaring, and glaring....
I hope that the Oscars have realized they finally have a winning formula. I could sit and watch the Sound choir and the acrobats every year.....
It'll be tough, I still love watching her mock The Donald, with the 'loopin' it over...... '
But I keep hearing that Carrie Fisher is a blast.... is she busy?
and he just got my vote. Bill Maher. I seriously think I have developed a crush on this guy, he's funny, smart and has a hate-on for Bush.
I listen to his weekly podcast at least twice so I don't miss a word.
Salon, please continue to beg Bill for as much input as you can afford. He brilliantly mixes intellect and humor that surpasses Jon Stewart by a mile.
Mix in a little Naomi Klein here and Salon will have perfection on a stick.
