Read "Empire of Illusion" by Chris Hedges. The end of Literacy and the triumph of Spectacle. Hedges is the NYT reporter who had to quit because of his disapproval of the planned invasion of Iraq. Need we wonder what's wrong with our media?

What is really fascinating in a worrisome way, is the part the C street fraternity plays in this. Sens. Ensign and Coburn as many other Fundamentalist elected officials belong to this secretive power seeking group that advocates moral superiority to the point of having their own set of rules. ( Sen. Coburn's dealings in this case an example). Looking into this group's history is an amazing discovery of behind the scene political actions, starting in the 19th century and really getting foothold in the 20th. One book to start with is "The Family" by Jeff Sharlet, who has firsthand information of the workings of today's group as well as names to do research on from the past. The History of this group shows a trend of keeping power away from the common people, as far back as the Union fights to today's Healthcare reform opposition. At some point one has to imagine a Christian Taliban in the making!

Considering the dysfunctional family life this poor individual had to grow up in, I excuse her accusation towards her now dead father.

After reading Jeff Sharlet's "The Family" I'm convinced that the Fundamentalist Capitalists will fight every kind of change that would benefit the general public. Their motto, started early 19th century, " All for the powerful Elite, nothing for the common man" still holds true, this last debacle proves it! Like today's C street gang believes even Christianity has had it wrong the last 2000 years!

Don't! If you miss your country, airfares are cheap and your homesickness will disappear as soon as you encounter that the dumbing down of the country has not stopped. The Repubs' lies are winning again, stay in the civilized world!

After looking into Grassley's record since the Reagan days, especially his involvement with the C Steet Fundamentalist gang who consider themselves above everything since they're chosen by God!!!!!! there's something very weird about this politician. For starters the millions he got from the health industry and his involvement in Somalia during the Reagan years???????? Now I'm getting scared!

Too bad that the US lacks the maturity to address true life situations such as giving people the choice of Euthanasia. Another big surprise is the lack of information there seems to be about living wills which I believed to have been around for a long time or is this again proof of the General Media's incapacity.

For several decades ( as far I can remember) the Republicans have been able to snow a group of their voters which gave them power a factor with the country getting stuck with a brain damaged W. The snow job was tried again with Palin but that failed and now they're grasping at anything even to the extend of welcoming the racists. Everything Liz and her likes say are rehearsed soundbites nothing more than empty propaganda!

Palin creates her stories because like the members of the C street Family, she was chosen for a mission and like Ensign, Sanford and the likes she is above any criticism or scrutiny!

As far as I'm concerned, she' s nobody's good example but she's the only mama these kids have and so far they seem well adjusted ( not mentioning, teenage pregnancy or no other choice than join the army????) The little girl is the cutest and seems very happy. The way she takes care of her little brother, Palin must be doing something right or is it her husband?

The small town beauty queen discovered the big world and wants to go on and enjoy it. The heck with commitment and duty, I want my cake and eat it too and no one better criticize me! If worse comes to worse, she can always say God told her!

I will excuse anything Jenny does including if she's the one who sent the emails to the paper. Some one very close to the Governor must have spilled the beans or how else would the paper know where his car was parked and which airport he flew out of and when to return to it. The Mrs. may forgive but doubt she'll forget.

Watching Buchanan lately, I believe he is showing signs of aging and the expression "old fogey" comes to mind.
