Truer words were never spoken. Are you so-called lefties as naive as you seem to be here? Do you really think the evil wing of the repugnican party is going to sit around the campfire with Obama singing Kumbayaa if he's the nominee?
Hatred and FEAR of Hillary is what's driving these folks. I remember how sure they were that Hillary was unelectable as senator from NY when she first ran and how far behind she was in the polls up to the last minute before the election. She's been elected twice. Joe Conason has hit the nail on the head. I'm glad he's exposing the strategy of these repugs. That Viagra-chugging, Oxycontin man is a typical right-wing repug? Do you think he'd vote for a black man in a million years? Wake up!

Let's see the poll after they pull the lever. I love how these repugs are pretending to be inclusive. These are the same people who invented the Southern Strategy of playing the race card and whose party white Southern Democrats scrambled to because the Democrats believed that Black people had the right to vote, sit anywhere they pleased in the bus, and not be terrorized by people in white sheets burning crosses on their lawns or firebombing their churches. Look at Romney lying that he "saw" his father marching with Martin Luther King. Now he's redefining the definition of "saw." Please, folks, don't fall for these toe-tapping liars!

I posit that those days are long gone. A progressive Republican is as hard to find as a black man at a klan rally, or an illegal alien kissing Tom Tancredo. They've been replaced by Oxycontin Head, a gaggle of neocons, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Falafel, et al. Even the so-called black repugnicans hate black people! Question for you: If things have progressed so well in the GOP, where are the black senators and congressmen in your party? Why in the year 2007 in this melting pot of a country is their roster of presidential candidates peopled solely by old white men? Where's the big tent? Where's the inclusion? Tell me, do!!

Research has shown that of all the candidates Hillary has been on the receiving end of the most negative reporting. So Andrea is just going with the flow. Well, Iowa has selected the Democratic candidate that Karl Rove and the right wing were hoping for. I can just imagine the high fives and popping champagne corks under their rocks last night. Good going.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Obama and his supporters want to bury their head in the sand and believe all that uplifting optimism will be of use in the general election, let them live on their fantasy island. All GG is doing is pointing out that the fear-mongering on which Republicans thrive has already begun. A cursory search of the internet reveals what's awaiting Mr. Obama from the wingnuts. My problem with him is this: Whether it's from naivete or cunning, he and his supporters are demonizing the Clintons because Bill and Hillary are willing to get in the mud and wrestle those GOP alligators. Al Gore and John Kerry kept the Clintons at bay during their presidential runs because they didn't like Clintonian tactics. Well, we saw how they both wound up: the election was stolen from Gore and Kerry was swiftboated while he stayed above the fray. Clinton is the only Democrat to serve a second term since FDR. There's a reason for that. "Hope" is not an effective weapon against a party filled with people who wish we were back in the 1800s from a civil and human rights standpoint.

Al Gore could have run on the robust economy, lowering of crime and America's leadership in the world which occurred under the administration in which he was vp. Instead, he allowed the hypocritical fornicating, self-hating closet cases to scare him away from winning the presidency. At the height of his impeachment, Pres. Clinton's poll numbers were close to double what Bush's is today! And Kerry's campaign did reach out to the Clintonistas near the end after he allowed the swiftboaters to pull that hate job on him while he windsurfed and duck hunted. Yep. It worked brilliantly...for the Republicans!!
