Griffey

Is not having a great year. His RBIs plus runs scored minus homers extended out to seasons end is less that 162, or less than one per game. The real power hitters having great years easily pass 200, sometimes getting up to 250 and beyond.

Junior

At present clip projects out to 43 homers, but only 88 runs scored and 99 RBI.

Also

I'd be a little hesitant to say Renteria is on his career year. He has to keep whacking away to achieve that. With the Cardinals one year he hit .330, with 96 runs scored, 100 RBIs, and 34 steals.

Griffey Jr. Revisited

Sorry to bring this up again when today's subject is about the polar opposite, i.e. winning, but I have to respond to the horse-asses from 24 hours ago.

Yesterday some incorrigible twit said Griffey was having a great year. I spanked him for saying something so absurd, and then a gang of ignorant snot nose punks attacked me. They were shooting spitballs at the SS NIMITZ.

Look jerks. Griffey's current .285 batting average, .384 on base, and .566 slugging is not great. It's not even close to great. Well, granted, it's great next to Griffey's average for his first 7 full seasons with the Reds----23 homers, 65 RBIs, and a .271 batting average.........Pujols is off to his worst year of his 7 and he's .306, .399, .547. His career numbers are .330, .417, .623.

By the way, it looks like the Reds have another Adam Dunn/Ken Griffey blossoming at the moment in Josh Hamilton----10 homers and 22 RBIs.

The Reds lead the majors in homers, and were out of the wild card race by the end of May. That's not great. That's Dunn and Griffey. Making millions.

P.S. .....Since the start of the 2002 season the Reds have struck out 6,873 times. And have not finished above .500. There's nothing great about the 21st century Reds, Griffey included.

And if anyone questions or insults me again, ever, I'll quit posting in protest

All I Know

Is I'm geting sick of these suckers pointing to the sky. Guy hits homer and points to the sky. What's the pitcher supposed to do? Flip the bird toward the ground and say "fuck you Satan."

Mikes Pace

If I'm not mistaken you're the incorrigible twit that said Griffey was having a great year.

And I'm not all that bad. Try Tony Clifton on for size.

Overturn Roe?

Then women in illegal states will have to travel to legal states for the procedure. These are the type of moral victories the right wing spends all their time on.

Of Course

Overturning Roe is not the real goal. Once that happens, if it happens, and some states retain the current status of federal abortion rights, then they will try for some constitutional interpretation or court challenge and vote that criminalizes abortion nationally.

But states rights is the strict constructionism the right wing always preaches.

Oh well what's new. More hypocrisy, more talking out of both sides of their mouths.

If They Had Their Way

We'd have those touch-healing revivals inside the Supreme Court.

The Hysterical Thing

Is if Roe was overturned the following will happen in the backrooms of some state legislatures----"Look, we all know there will be thousands of women from our state that will be wanting abortions for various reasons. They can go to some other state on our border or in the general vicinity that retains abortion rights. And we can criminalize it here, taking the moral high ground to impress our Christian base."

Can You Imagine

Abortion being decided at the state level? The most militant of each lobbying side breathing down the politicians necks. Then the legislature comes up with something and the Governor vetos it. Or signs it. Then new legislature majorities and Governors are elected in a new election cycle, and those earlier decisions are changed. Over and over and over.

IT IS RIDICULOUS.

Once Again

I must repeat the same thing I repeat everytime this topic comes up.

America was built on cheating. And here we are in the 21st century, full of righteous indignation, condemning athletes.

Goeorge Mitchell.....LOL...He was the majority leader of an esteemed group--chocked full of swindlers, cheats, liars, and pocket-liners.

If Any State

Upon Roe being overturned, opted not only to outlaw abortion, but make it criminal for women of that state to get an abortion elsewhere, then the rest of the Union should commence whatever proceedings are required and necessary to remove that state from the Union.

I'm Not Too Sure

The overturning of Roe and sending the matter to the individual states would condemn the poorest of women to giving birth or having an unsafe "alley" abortion.

If Roe was overturned the pro-choice activists would bitch up a storm, but would quickly marshall all their energy and resources to providing access to abortions for any woman that wanted it. Fund raising, providing funds to the poor for travel etc. Vans or buses too.

There may be more abortions after Roe is overturned.

It Would Be Interesting...........

To see the right wing reaction if abortions increased after Roe was overturned-----"That doesn't matter, God is pleased with these laws we passed.", is about all I can guess..

Believe Me

Republican politicians would stop the court from attempting to ban abortions federally. It would constitute the destruction of the republican party.

Well

I'd say in one sense Al-Qaeda and the Iraq insurgency are the same.

The Al-Qaeda attack of 9-11 was in response to us plopping our fat asses down in Saudi Arabia. The Iraq insurgency is in response to us plopping our fat asses down in Iraq.

History is chocked full of other examples all over the world.

When you plop your fat ass down somewhere else, regardless of intent, be ready for groups to form that strike back.
