Well more than a little, about games being closer than the score indicated or not as close as the score indicted. Usually what happens at the very end of the game is offered up as evidence. One team hits a 3 at the buzzer. The other team may have had some dude who hasn't shot a 3 all year fire one in as the shot clock expires out of desperation midway through the first quarter. Or other such examples from earlier in the game.

But they ended up barely winning so it must have been as close as the score indicated, much closer than the score indicated when they were down 8. So one or two shots going in can determine if it was as close as the score indicated.
