  • But Since They Keep Bringing Up 9-11

[Read the article: Here's what waterboarding looks like]

Isn't their standard line that due to Clinton's incompetence he left office with a monstrous national security threat right smack in our face? Did Bush mention one time publicly, bin Laden or Al-Qaida, from the day he took office until a day or two after 9-11? My Pet Goat was referenced publicly before bin Laden.

And there were bin Laden-Al-Qaida warning memos lost in the shuffle unheeded in the Whitehouse. Priorities at that time were tax cuts and trying to prevent Jim Jeffords from switching parties.

But what if the actions of the "islamofacsists" are in direct response to our long and continued intrusion on their lands. And as we catch them we torture them and-or debate about what constitutes torture, to find out what they are up to in response to our continued intrusion. All as we continue intruding.

May fall into the category I have discussed before.

Conservatism is nothing more than "I am more patriotic than you are." And then looking for any oppurtunity, even if it borders on the absurd, to display or prove it.

Look I am willing to condone these things for America. Or I can handle this or that for America. I can show the stomach for Old Glory. Can you?

As difficult as it might be, that 9-11 was teeney-bop in terms of numbers.........The cold war chess match in Afghanistan and Wars one and two in Iraq have killed between one and two million.

When Russia invaded Afghanistan we had a heart attack. Whatever was brewing there, was right on their damn border. We went to the UN hollering for sanctions. Refused to go to their olympics. Helped finance and arm the "islamofascists."

Here is one question. Is there any military invasion that Russia or China could undertake that we wouldn't have an absolute furious shitfit about?

The 9-11 attacks had been in Moscow or China. We probably would have swallowed a retaliation in Afghanistan, but would have been giving loud speeches about proportional response and not going overboard. But what if they had followed with an invasion of a large oil producer in the Middle East.

    What would we have done?

They saw the futility and called it quits. If some guy in the Kremlin had put his sights on Iran and Iraq they probably would have shot the dumb son of a bitch.

Here we are, occupiers of Iraq, eyes on Iran, and debating what torture is.

And that Dolphin team are probably getting a little nervous. They have a party every year when the last undefeated team loses.

These teams would butcher that Miami team, whether they go undefeated or not.

Has to take a shot at Brady or anybody else in pro or college to prevent running up the score. Just petition for a rule that allows the coach of the team getting beat to approach the refs and have the game ended whenever they have had enough. If you can't stop them either keep trying to stop them without complaining after the game, or have the game stopped then we won't have to listen to it.

Is handing off straight up the middle with your subs every play from the middle of the third quarter on. And on defense play a soft prevent, no blitzes, with your subs. The other team leaves their starters in until the end to run up their stats. That way the other team beats you by 17 or 21 over the last 20 minutes, thus allowing the final score in the newspaper the next day to look fairly respectable.

I find that to be more embarrassing than just getting the shit kicked out of you from start to finish.

Of over-turning Roe-Wade and returning the matter to the individual states is one thing. A Federal ban is quite another. That's a seriously loose screw up in the gray matter, religious or otherwise.

So loose of a screw that the person with that position can be chalked up as a kook.

Even if it gets to where the republicans want it, then we can't leave either---How can we risk losing all we have accomplished? Meanwhile the extremists and anti-American forces sit back and wait. It's madness.

  • The Constitution

[Read the article: The Ron Paul phenomenon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is very brief and in many regards very vague. And was written by dudes that had absolutely no concept of 21st century issues. I think they intentionally made it brief and vague to give future generations plenty of room to maneuver.

The idea of running this country today based on some half-assed literal interpretation of a document written over 2 centuries ago is preposterous.

Abortion is not murder. If you don't believe me, go ask a prosecutor or district attorney to prosecute a woman or doctor involved in an abortion for murder. He'll tell you that he can't, it's not murder.
