  • New Pics from AG

In the elusive name of human decency photos like these need to be published. Thanks for doing so. The readers who accuse you of not publishing the Danish cartoons and playing into a liberal agenda by publishing these new pics from AG do not seem to understand that the cartoons are yet another violence against the Islamic world. Just because it is more comfortable for people stateside to hide from the truth of atrocities committed in the name of "democracy" does not mean that the people the US is "liberating" in Iraq do not know what is going on. In order to be seen as a liberator the US must start acting like one. By changing our own perspective perhaps we will be able to make a change in Iraq.

At least until we all come together and say ENOUGH! Enough with the violence. The violence against blacks and other minorities and the violence within each individual community. Enough with a system where clearly many children are left behind, intentionaly. Enough with a constitution that states that all men are created equal and a governemnt that fails to uphold its promise. Enough with a eurocentric ideal that continues to see non whites, at home and abroad, as less than and inheretly inferior. Only when we as a nation realize that we are all connected in every sense of the word and that what we do and fail to do profoundly effects us all will we be ready to sit down and talk about a. how to eradicate poverty in the richest nation in the world b. How to provide education to all children in this country regardless of race or class. c. How to takle racism and empower all citizen to contribute to the further good of society.

  • The real problem is

That we still have to say "What if". Women in the USA have again relinquished what few advances where made in the 60's and 70's. The vast majority in the middle classes are now content to be stay at home moms with no independant financial power and investment in who runs this country. So we chose to leave men in charge. Perhaps this way women don't have to look too closely at this safe choices.

  • He should be embarrassed and ashamed

In any case she should run, now, quickly and find herself another guy. One who isn't petty and passive agressive. One who will keep a couple's secrets. One with a family who would support her and not this petty a-hole of an excuse for a man. If this is what he has to offer then say no! Cuz it won't work and then imagine what divorcing this fella would be like. Yikes.

  • Never marry before age 30

You just don't have enough to offer or even know what you have to offer until then. Until then, play! Have fun! Date, travel, take classes, become. Once you know who you are, what you stand for, and that you don't need a man but that you have something to offer a SO then it will happen.

  • Mebbe it'll go away

We live in a society that has mo focus. We expect miracle cures from one pill, and in general do little to ensure our own health. We demand to be entertained by "reality" shows like "Lost"and "Survivor". We purchase prepackaged, processed food laden with salt, transfat and flavor enhancers so that we can have "tasty" meals at the push of a microwave button.

Katrina and Rita were headlined on TV and in the news as long as they sold advertising and copy, and now the American public having grown bored with the "show", the Media has moved on the their usual horror of the day/week routine. That seems to be as long as the public is likely to focus.

Of course our National Leaders do nothing to lead by example. And FEMA is but a ghost of its former self. Bush has been sure to completely neuter the agency and make it look so totally incompetent that the only logical thing to do is to fold it and have it reappear, magically, as another tentacle on the multi-armed "Home Land Security" administration.

If this were happening in France, the country would be paralyzed by strikes until the government gave in and stepped down. The American people continue to let Bush and his team screw this country and say nothing! Nada! Zippo! It is as though government is just an other "program choice" on TV and one that is easier to surf right by than to actually get involved in and expect something from. But inaction will only lead to more of same and 2.5 years is a long time to wait for change.

  • Why bother

Wow with a view like this yes your kid will grow up to hate you! and you will be a crappy mom! Why bother? There is honor in not having kids. But aside from all the hard work, sleepless night and constant worry there is nothing like it in the world. Enjoy!
