Bonds doesn't even merit bush league status

The fact is that the steroid freakazoid Bonds doesn't deserve any breaks at all. Hell, the only reaosn Frisco kept him on this year, was to be a sideshow since they knew they had no legit pennant hopes.

So the cheating Bonds doesn't even merit bush league play, pay or status - not after he debauched and stole the most hallowed record in sports.

I am really really elated that his "record breaking" ball will enter the Hall of fame with a big ol' asterisk slapped on it. That way, everyone will remember that HR no. 756 was bogus.

And now the scumball has been indicted

Without a few of his fawning fanboys trumpeting him while turning a completely blind eye to his steroid use?

Bingo! And the news this evening is that the little prick and scumball maggot has now - finally - been indicted for lying about his steroid use. He faces 20-30 yrs. in the pen.

If indeed convicted, he ought to have his record revoked and awarded back to a decent citizen, Mr. Henry Aaron!

Notorious WES talks of "Jimmy Swaggart" but misses the larger point that we are all about a scoundrel breaking the law. Theft of a sports record by drug use is just as bad as a jewel theft or any other.

Numbers and kids

Have things changed so much that we must run the numbers before deciding whether to have children?

Unfortunately, yes. With exploding expenses and costs in everything from medical insurance to utilities, to groceries, there simply isn't the disposable wherewithal to also provide properly for even one kid.

It is estimated that to decently provide for one kid, through college, it costs some $330,000. Think of what a start this would make instead on one's retirement nest egg.

Apart from all that, the planet is seriously overpopulated as it is, and this surplus of people is what's ratcheting up everything from the greenhouse effect, to the energy crisis to resource and environmental degradation. So, kids are not only a excessive cost for a couple but also for the planet.

My wife and I decided from early to leave kids out of the equation. We pursue our own interests, and we are more concerned with the welfare of the planet than with burdening it with more energy-sucking, resource consuming biological waste units.

Of course, this meant we also had to part ways with the RC Church. But that was no loss at all, and more like a gain.

"falsehoods"

There is so much self-righteous drivel and just plain falsehoods ($300,000 to raise a kid? Please!)

Not a falsehood at hall. This was actually cited in two sources last year, The Economic Policy Institute, and The Denver Post - in a special examination of the economics of having kids.

It also doesn't take a brainiac to work it out. To send Jimmy or Jane to a decent university - say at a cost of $20k a year, will total $80 k at the end. And that's assuming they finish in four years, most don't.

Now - add on medical expenses and insurance for the lives. Add on the costs of their medical calamities, like breaking a leg skiing or whatnot. Add on the costs of the Gap designer ware- since of course, they all have to look like the cool kids.

Add on the cost of SAT training and also private school. (Had I had kids, they would have been sent to private, not public school)

Add on the cost of food, now exploding in cost thanks to the pillaging of corn crops by the ethanol loonies.

No, YOU are way off the board in under-assessing the cost of kids.

There are too many unwanted kids as it is. IF people want kids, then they should adopt them!

What I don't get

What I don't get is why an Olympic gold medalist busted on similar counts has to return her gold medals, but a punk like Bonds - if convicted- can still keep his HR record.

Methinks professional baseball ought to have some provision whereby if a presumed "record breaker" is found to have come to that achievement by unnatural and deplorable means- he ought to be forced to give up the record - and yield to the previous holder. In this case, Henry Aaron.

It is an abomination that a piece of filth like Bonds could hold onto this record even if he gets 30 yrs.

As for the morons who try to diminish the import by asserting baseball is "just entertainment" tell that to the family of coach Mike Coolbaugh - who was killed after being hit with a foul bal.

Tell his family what he was partaking of was "just silly entertainment".

Stupid fuckers.
