No surprise

The survey suggests that about half of Americans lack morality and have a strong sadistic streak.

Anyone observing the rise and popularity of "Reality TV" would not be surprised by such a finding.

The Palin Fan Club

Comments from Palinistas often cause me to wonder: is everyone who loves her illiterate or insane? There seems to be no one of any amount of erudition who supports her. Given that she's a knowledge-free bumpkin who can barely complete a sentence - and in fact takes pride in these characteristics - it's no surprise that PhD candidates wouldn't be flocking to her fold.

But some white people like Obama (i.e. his admirers are all 'his own kind'), so I'm wondering: where are the intelligent, well-spoken, educated people who support Sarah Palin? Surely one Palin fan can string together a few grammatically correct sentences, analyze her political philosophy, and construct a cohesive argument supporting her presence on the political scene? Or is she, in our representative form of government, the representative of rubes?

There is No Value in a Fatter America

Authors of articles such as this one, which essentially serve to promote an unhealthy diet, ought to have their physical measurements and weight - perhaps even a full body photo - published alongside the article. Before and after might be nice, except that I imagine anyone who has such a high level of familiarity with fast-food menus is largely "before," with "after" little more than a wistful dream in a far flung future.

Wake up, Fat America! Your "value meals" are making you obese, exhausted, ill, and retarded. This lack of substantial nutritive content in these meals, something this article simply elides, contributes to diabetes, liver disease, imbalance of neurotransmitters, kidney failure, heart problems, and of course a complete inability to wear the latest fashions.

I'm slim (only a 2-inch increase in waist size since the age of 19). Other than walking to the bus stop, I don't exercise much (I'm lazy, and I like to watch movies and read books). I don't eat fast food, though I do eat out several times a week. Which of these practices has contributed most to my physical dimensions?

I know you portly and pot-bellied burgerites and fry-fans would like to believe I'm "blessed" with a "high metabolism," or that I secretly purge twice a day or something, but my 44-year old metabolism is, according to medical doctors, average and the only time I vomit is involuntarily. What I do differently from the heavy lot of you is: I never stuff a mcfatburger with mcfatcheese into my mouth - no, I like myself too much to poison my body with the barely edible and non-nutritious consumables found in the restaurants surveyed in this elongated food advertisement disguised as "journalism."

Next time you decide to waddle down to the local fast food (yeah, I know you were gonna drive, but trust me: waddle) joint for a 99-cent meal of slow death, keep waddling a few extra blocks, then waddle back home and eat some fresh food, prepared by your own hands. Waddle a little more, a little faster and a little further, each day and soon you'll find that not only is there 99-cents and some change in your pocket (eating at home is ALWAYS the better value), but the residual remnants of all your previous mcfatburgers with mcfatcheese will slowly begin to melt away.

Keep up the exercise, resist the urge to splurge and enlarge, and soon enough you'll be able to look into a full-length dressing mirror with a mild antipathy, rather than the venomous self-hatred that obviously threatens to devour so many of you.

Elephantman Hearts John Edwards

Does anybody think the guy is just going to live the rest of his life quietly, without the massive external ego gratification he apparently requires?

In that trait, he reminds me of you, Dick Cheney, and your goddess Sarah Palin.

Not enough bad indeed!

This is what fascism looks like.

Isn't it?

Heads in the sand

Americans are keeping their heads in the sand. They must be hoping that their fascism and other evil deeds will go away if they ignore it.

If you agree that, for whatever sanctimonious horse-shit reason, these pictures should be kept out of the public eye, then you are complicit in the cover-up of the crimes depicted. If you are complicit in the cover-up, you are complicit in the crimes.

As usual, Americans want to have it both ways: they want to commit immoral acts while maintaining a view of themselves as decent people. This can only be done through a denial of the evidence. It is essential to Americans of both political parties to insist on this denial, as both Republicans and Democrats are complicit in the creation, continuation, and cover-up of these crimes.
