Isn't it wonderful too when you can ease your conscience plus make a good buck on it at the same time!
Ain't that America
For you and me
Ain't that America
Something to see
Ain't that America
Home of the free
Little pink houses for you and me
--John Mellencamp
Funny how free-market Americans, Republicans and Democrats alike it seems, are bashing a guy for making money from his own hard work. Funny how Americans, cowed to silence in the wake of 9/11 and the Iraq War, are knocking this guy for keeping silent until now. Funny how Americans, who still won't act en masse to end the war or otherwise change a damn thing, want to hoist McClellan on his petard, burn him, then scatter his ashes sundry across the land.
Americans make me laugh! HA!
I do not support Hillary Clinton for either the Democratic nomination or the Presidency.
But I want her to stay in the race. And here's why:
* Her RFK gaffe may not be her last. I'm sure she has much, much more to say. Every day she is in the race is another day that she might justify her continued presence by suggesting something even more outrageous than her last justification. For the sake of comedy, and putting an end to Hillary's chances of ever being President, I say we allow her to continue demonstrating her lack of largesse, political acumen, and self-control. In other words, the best case against Hillary for President is Hillary herself.
* Her continued presence not only "outs" all the dishonest Republicans posing as outraged Hillary supporters (like KateTex), it also reveals the deep level of privilege and hysteria which pervades the Democratic party. This subset of the party, who nominated Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004, prefers to select the elite, privileged members of the party and shut out those who challenge the party power-structure. Every day that passes they reveal themselves to be deeply divisive, intensely selfish, and more than a little racist. Exposing these vampires to the light of day will in the long run benefit the Democratic party and return it to its historic all-inclusive nature. It will end the long deathgrip that white privilege has had on the party, and foster the creation of an actual "opposition party," one determined to correct the extravangent destruction of over a decade of right-wing, corporate dominance by restoring balance to the party. Win or lose in November, the future success of the Democratic party lies in reducing the dominance of corporate-controlled "moderates," returning to grassroots democracy, and empowering the under-represented classes (which includes Hillary's beloved "hard working" white people).
* The DLC is losing its grip on party power. It is their control of the power that has led it to resemble "GOP lite." The demise of Clinton as a viable national candidate all but seals the DLC's coffin. Every day she remains in public view is another day of viewing the rotting death of the triangulating, compromising, back-room DLC deal-makers the Clintons have come to personify. They are of course neither the only nor the most important members of the DLC, which is the Democratic Party version of "neo-cons" (and in fact includes a few). But if you were to examine fingers for pie stains, the Clintons wouldn't have a clean digit between them.
So I say, stay in Hillary. You are a shining example of the kind of politics which have come to exemplify America. The longer you are in, spinning your webs, the more Americans of both parties see what truly ugly spirit lives beneath the skin of American democracy.
What is it with these dishonest, twisted Americans who get their jollies by going online and pretending to be something they are not, provoking strangers with heated and hysterical rhetoric? Is it the online manifestation of small-penis syndrome? Does Electro Robot and this crowd of GOP crazies thing they are doing a service to America? Are they practicing politcking the old comrade way, all propaganda and lies, doing anything for the Beloved Party? Or are they projecting their own paranoia and hatred onto the objects of their deluded attacks?
As I've said before: Hillary Clinton must stay in the race. Every day that passes, she reveals to us another depth of her narcissism and developing psychosis. Yesterday I wrote that she would commit another gaffe: hours later she made her arrogant, deluded speech.
Please stay in the race, Senator Clinton. Every day you remain ensures one less day, one less elected office, in your political career.
