I feel bad for Sodini.

He seemed like a complex person. He probably was on the autism spectrum. I find that horrific, since my son is on it. I would like to have sat down with him and talked. See what he is about. What was going on in his mind.

I guess I should hate him...that seems the political correct thing to do. But, I don't.

It is unfortunate that he took the lives of other people. But, in the scheme of things, I think he would have been a much more interesting person to talk to than his victims...unless of course, he was shooting at me.

"So are these rapists gay?"

__________________________

Well, 10% of the male population is alleged to be gay, and it turns out that 10% of the rape victims in the Congo are men...coincidence? Hmmmmm...

Maybe if she presented more WASPy...

...people would be more sympathetic. Weren't all these types of books usually about upper-class WASP society? Maybe she should change her name to Buffy Kensington.

As I crawl out from underneath the bridge under which I live...

"Who's that tripping over my bridge?"

"Tis I, Bookgrrrl."

"I am coming to gobble you up."

Yes Dvorkin, let's do the moral equivalency test:

"Motor vehicle collisions are one of the leading preventable causes of death in the United States."

"The total worldwide historical number of car accident fatalities is difficult to estimate. Figures around 17 million have been suggested in 1991, and would have to be significantly higher now, making car driving one of the deadliest undertakings in the history of mankind."

"660 bicyclists were killed [nationally] in crashes with motor vehicles in 2002. This is 9 percent fewer than in 2001 and down 34 percent since 1975."

Come'on down to SF

bike haters. try some of the car intimidation stuff here, where you drive too close to the cyclist in an attempt to intimidate them.

cyclists here will chase you down, knock your mirrors off. Here in california, cyclists are allowed to use the full lane in certain circumstances, yet, drivers resent them. most of the drivers here in san francisco are commuters or tourists who don't even live here.

and yet americans feel okie dokie about buying HUGE suv's that fill up lanes, suck gas, during an oil war...

ridiculous.

Bicyclists break laws?

Maybe. But, let's now turn our attention to the dangerous vehicles on our city streets:

Needless to say...

I think the general concensus about Josiah Neufeld's name change in the average American psyche is that Josiah Neufeld is less of a man.

I mean, I don't even know the guy and now I have no respect for him.

Just saying.

Nothing wrong with disliking Clinton

Or her husband for that matter. They did as much damage to working class and poor people as any Republican. Not only that, she is a neo-con war-monger who was brought on to allay the neo-conservatives who wanted to attack Iran after our stellar performances in Iraq and Afganistan. These same people want to destabilize Iran, and are thrilled to have Hillary.

Ridiculous

How did Glenn Beck, this doughy, soft, unaccomplished former addict become representative of any political group?

Ride a bike. I'm a cyclist, and I always get complimented on my legs.

Let's hope so. I had enough of the Dungeons and Dragons crowd in school.

@BillyFla

How come Blunderdog & LyleBateman get addressed by their names, and I get referred to as "our transexual friend" and Ms. Tranny? And how come my argument is dismissed as my panties are all "in a bunch over showers?"

I only mentioned the tranny thing because I thought it would add context to why I have witnessed uncivil behavior in the boys gym...not to bolster any argument I may have made. Furthermore, having been subtley harrassed by gay guys for my tranny status, I think it ironic that you want to do away with one form of discriminatin by using discriminatory language in an attempt to bolster your argument.

I think homosexuals should be allowed to serve...

but, I don't think that they have a "right" to shower with straight dudes, anymore than men have a right to shower with women. Yes, yes, I know. "They are there already." The military should get ride of communal showers. Communal showers seem like some homo-erotic concoction. If the shower argument went away, this thing would pass immediately.

I am sorry, but being a former Marine (current tranny) I am familiar with the whole communal shower thing, and the "field shower." Even now, when I go to the YMCA, the presence of gays is obvious, from the dudes strutting around naked who never seem to actually workout, to the guy who seems take incredible long showers, to the weirdos in the steam room. Any denial that the military, locker rooms, showers, bathrooms and steam rooms are part of gay porn and fantansy life is baloney.

"What makes you think a gay guy would want you anyway. They tend to like other gay guys." *cough* *cough* bullshit *cough* Tell that to the people watching me walk to the shower, or giving me the gay stare. I know it doesn't help that I live in San Francisco...but, puh-leeze.

BTW

Rape culture is what is being promoted here. that we should just assume that all women are raped all the time and that the victim's allegations should be taken at face value inspite of any evidence to the contrary because, "women never lie about rape," and when they do, "he had it coming anyway."
