But the finder of facts in criminal trial generally are juries, or the trial judge. The appellate courts only job is to see if the law was applied correctly. What the court did in this case is look at a question of fact, the jeans, and then trump the decision on the body that sat through the evidence. That's reprehensible.
Though I am on hormones and all. So this may be ironic to say, but sometimes I feel that the "women" who post the masculinist type comments don't sound like they are women at all. The writing sounds as if it a guy, pretending to be a women, then writing angry stuff.
No offense Linney Uston.
Regarding whether taking only daughters to work is sexist, everyone knows it is. The only way you cannot argue it is sexist is to define sexism as oppression of women by the "patriarchy."
I am one of those people who does believe that attitudes toward boys has resulted in them being screwed over in school. When girls where not doing well in school, we said, "fix the schools and got Title IX and the Gender Equity in Education Act of 1994. When boys got behind, we blamed to boys and said, "It's not bad news about boys, it's good new about girls. Boys are doing better than ever before" (Education Sector.)
I'd like to see someone make that argument about women's wages. "Wow, 79 cents! Women are doing better then ever before!" That wouldn't fly of course.
In sum, yes take you daughters to school is sexist. But we accept it because boys and teenager guys are not sympathetic.
"And magdelyn, as someone who went to law school, you should recall the first things a lawyer does in any case - figure out the law/procedures in the jurisdiction having venue."

That's why I titled my piece, "I don't know about Korea..." and then made general remarks about what I do know.
but five partners is not exactly slutting around. If this is all the hook-up generation of gals can do, they are failing to live up to their names.
Where the men are men, and the boys are scared. How do you separate the the Greek men from the boys? With a crowbar.
Just because the author criticizes mothers doesn't make the criticism misogynist or otherwise untrue. Drinking alcohol and smoking pot while pregnant is a no-no...the "medical" marijuana crowd not withstanding. Regarding the woman who's daughter had seven children, three of which she was caring for, not only was her hands-off approach to finding her daughter negligent, it was reckless to the point of culpability. But, who am I kidding. Welcome to American, where everybody has rights, and nobody has responsibility. We treat children like shit in this country. They aren't property. If you have a kid, man or woman, you are held to a higher standard. Even the most rabit pro-choice advocates have to acknowledge, once the kid is born your "choice" about caring for this new human goes out the window. You have an obligation to those who you bring into this world.
BTW, this week wasn't so good for guys either.

"A Hayward man didn't call 911 after he intentionally dipped his girlfriend's 16-month-old son in scalding water, inflicting critical burns to 70 percent of his body and causing his skin to peel away, according to police...
...Finally, at 1 p.m. Thursday, while driving around again, Perez called 911 after the child began having seizures and his sister told him he was going to die, Hayward police Lt. Chris Orrey said."
Well, two dead for what? Palfrey is the second woman involved in this scandal to commit suicide. Quite frankly, prostitution is not of our business. Theses were not street walkers litering the streets with drugs. As I wrote yesterday...
"I had contact with Jeane Palfrey's attorney Preston Burton because I helped do legal research for a motion for a high profile case against a local resident accused of soliciation. This breaks my heart. Fuck the politicians and the prosecutors in this case. Why did anyone care about this? Who was she hurting? Two people dead from society's demonization of consentual sex. They're murders.
You know, this about makes me believe that there really is a patriarchy out there trying to destroy women...and I am practically a masculinist."
prostitutes included. Only the select few psychopaths have that fantasy. My God, do people really think the average guy is so twisted?
not good or moral things..." (paraphrase). If our modern political culture weren't dogged by anemic, conformist politicians, things could get done. But, unfortunately, we've created a political process that is easily manipulated by the Corporate Media, and sold to the reality show watching, SUV driving, self-satisfied, stumbling masses, who are only to willingly to vote against their own self interests.
Consumer culture allow people to neglect participation in government and politics. But, my friends, things will not always be so. With a dollar losing value, and projections from the likes of Warren Buffet that the dollar will continue to fall, not just in the immediate future, but for the long haul as competition from China, India, and the like cost U.S. economic power, the self-satisfied will start to take a look at what is going on is Washington, because sex scandals will look petty when your kids are starving.
In the future, we may have a more sophiticated, mature electorate. But, until that time, I guess we'll keep the focus on where politicians put their dicks, and only the week, conformist, ready to please beta males and females, will govern us.
"Sex makes Men do great things, not good or moral things..."
In my opinion, falsely crying rape should carry exactly the same sentence as a conviction for rape. They should make her register as a sex offender as well.
