  • Exactly what is needed

[Read the article: "Either we'll succeed, or we won't succeed"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

These guys spin everything so that up becomes down and black becomes white, etc. I've long maintained that they just need to start declaring that they've won and then they could get out of it. Looks like the process is under way.

  • Not

[Read the article: Introducing: Tony Cartoons]

This one is not funny. Sorry.

    RSU is often funny.

If you want interesting AND funny video, try zefrank (http://www.zefrank.com/theshow/).

  • Good luck with the move

[Read the article: A note to War Room readers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It'll be interesting to see if War Room changes when you are more "up close and personal" with your subject matter.

  • No Opinion on Audiofile

[Read the article: Goodbye to Audiofile]

    I never look at it.

But Joan, can you explain what has happened to Video Dog? Did you guys sign contracts with Rabbit Bites, the cartoonists and Red State? I think I'd rather watch the piano playing cat! I like Red State OK, but it's not called Red State Dog.

Fix it or can it. Video Dog used to be a fun feature.

  • Bald wisdom

[Read the article: How can I comfort my boyfriend about losing his hair?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

My bald brothers-in-law tell me that being bald isn't bad, but going bald is murder.

  • Support the troops unless

[Read the article: Bush on the lesson of Vietnam: Stay longer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Bush said that there is "no debate" in his mind that the veterans from Vietnam deserve the high praise of the United States of America."

Unless the vet is John Kerry.

  • Overreacting?

[Read the article: Condi gets a makeover]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I read the piece and did not think it was so bad. One reason they analyze women's dress is that men wear the exact same thing all the time. You can only get so much mileage out of red tie vs. paisley.

Anyway, the rare times men do wear something different, it is discussed. Obama in a bathing suit? Obama and the open-necked shirt, and how everyone has copied it? Bush in jeans on the "ranch?" How about the red plaid flannel shirt a presidential candidate wore awhile back (Lamarr Alexander maybe?)?

I feel like I have actually been hearing less about Hillary's and Pelosi's "pantsuits" and more about their actions than ever before.

Besides, I think most readers can figure out they all have spinners without someone writing a disclaimer about it every time.

  • Lame-o-crats

[Read the article: Senate rejects war funds tied to timetable]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

These guys need to be heaved out of office at the next available opportunity, starting with Harry Reid. I have never seen a bigger bunch of cowards.

If they're going to cave on every single issue, then they should at least quit holding press conferences about how they are going to stand up to Bush, or whatever idiotic blather they put out on a given day. Aaaaaarrrrrggghhh!

  • @bizona

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I imagine most teams' fans, as a group, think they're the classiest, most knowledgeable of all fans and their team is the classiest and best.

I don't think we Philadelphia fans view ourselves that way. The word classy is rarely, if ever, applied to the fans here.

For another opinion on the Pats, see the first guy in this Onion man-on-the-street:

    http://www.theonion.com/content/sports_fan/on_the_patriots_chances_to

TV has already subjected me to more Patriots games than I can stomach this season (why were they on almost every week no matter who they played?). I'd love to see the Packers win and Favre go out in a blaze of glory, a la Elway.

Still, I don't see how the Patriots can lose. They have had unfailing good luck. Things always seem to break their way. Combine that with consistently excellent play, and a little cheating, and you have a super bowl champion, unfortunately.

  • Media creation

[Read the article: The racial divide, then and now]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I think the huge big deal over this is a media-created monster. Is it really shocking that black voters might turn out and vote for the first black person with a real shot at the job? Is it astounding that women might vote for Hillary for the same reason? What's actually wrong with that? White men have voted for white men throughout history. And why shouldn't the candidates compete for these votes?

The Republicans can remain above the racial fray because they only have white guys. Easy to criticize when you're all the same old thing. And the media needs something to bloviate about for 24/7, so the more they can stir the pot the happier they are.

Of course race and gender are big issues in this election. And if the Dems think the Republican party isn't going to go at these things hard in the general, they're crazy. They break out the racist stuff even against the white guys, right John McCain?

Better to have these difficulties out in the open. These are two big firsts, and it is totally unsurprising that it isn't neat and pretty. If it wants to win the White House the party will get in line behind whichever candidate ultimately wins, and the person will be the stronger for having survived a tough primary.

  • Time to move on

[Read the article: The Shuster fallout]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Shuster apologized, although grudgingly. Olbermann gave a strenuous and unambiguous apology on his own show. Shuster was suspended. Enough already. Chelsea and Hillary are big girls, and they can take it.

The real problem is these guys getting on the air and thinking they sound cool by using a term like pimped. Leave it to Xzibit and MTV and stick to professional broadcasting, and there won't be any more problems.
