It's 22 more days
[Read the article: McAuliffe: "We are in through June 3"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What's the big deal? She's already on the ballots. Why not finish it out? At this point let every voter have their say. Obama has wrapped it up, barring outright theft at the convention. But what's so criminal about finishing over the next three weeks the campaign that she has worked on for several years? The Hillary haters need to get over themselves. In three weeks they can gloat full time.

Oh please
[Read the article: Clinton faces deadline for loan repayment]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama meanwhile, he's rolling in it. Big difference. I guess his supporters just care about his campaign more.
Alecsmom, you're right. You just care so much more than the rest of us lazy slobs. Thank you for clearing this up.

More unity
[Read the article: Clinton faces deadline for loan repayment]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's ok buddy, stay home. If you're not onboard by now, we don't really need you.
Thousands of other Hilldog supporters will take your place.
Why don't you go be a republican or something.
Another unifying statement from an Obama supporter. But Hillary is the one "dividing the party" while Obama supporters rise above her "nasty smears." OK.

It's high school
[Read the article: Should this dress be illegal?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You don't have freedom of speech, they can search your locker, and there is a dress code.
There was a dress code in effect for the prom. I don't think it takes a genius to figure out that "hooker outfit" is not on the accepted list of ensembles. Where was the parent who presumably took prom pictures and let her out of the house in this trashy dress? What a proud moment.
They probably didn't have to lock her up, but she had a lot of nerve arguing about being kept out.

No
[Read the article: What's so bad about "sweetie," anyway?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Calling her sweetie is dismissive and obnoxious, although I am willing to believe it was unintentional.
But as I sat in a restaraunt with 2 friends yesterday, and a waiter young enough to be any of our sons repeatedly addressed us as "girls" -- as in, "Everything OK here, girls?" "Ready to order, girls?" -- it struck me how rarely I have to hear that kind of thing anymore. Language policing seems annoying and petty, but it has been effective at wiping out a lot of these demeaning forms of address for women in the last few decades. Thus, the "girls" and the "sweetie" comments stand out a lot more and seem like a bigger deal.
I don't think it means he hates women or anything like that, but Obama needs to cut it out.

What a fun neighbor
[Read the article: He dribbles! He shoots! He drives me insane!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What exactly did the LW expect when he moved to the burbs? They are full of kids. Kids make noise.
I too live in a Phila suburb. I consider us very lucky that our block is packed with kids, including our own. In warm weather they are all out playing something. The adjoining driveway is for basketball, my yard gets football and lacrosse. The family with the trampoline is home to the new sport of trampoline-basketball. Another neighbor with younger children has a beautiful pool, and he very generously invites kids of all ages to come over and swim.
Although this scenario conflicts with Cary's narrow view of the suburbs, I know all my neighbors on the block and their kids, and I welcome their noise. This means the kids are having fun, enjoying their friends, and benefitting from all the "evils" our ordinary suburban neighborhood has to offer. I know where my kids are and who they are with. They might be making noise, but they are occupied and happy.
I guess the LW does not have kids, or no longer has younger kids. Whatever age the LW is, he is in great danger of turning into the cranky old man the kids are afraid of. Is this really who he wants to be?
Plant some shrubs to dampen the noise, try not to have a heart attack when the bball repeatedly lands in the shrubs, and play some music. Quit dwelling on it. If you really can't stand it, then move someplace where there are no houses (or children) near you.

WSJ snacks
[Read the article: Putting "women" in the WSJ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Who reads the Wall Street Journal for snacking tips?"
The print WSJ runs plenty of articles, especially on weekends, about style, travel, food, restaraunts, wine... all kinds of things. They are often very interesting and well written. They also write regularly about family issues. I don't usually read the articles about stock prices, but I often read the feature stuff.

I'm no defender of the lamo media...
[Read the article: Now, McClellan a harsh critic of Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]but how is their fault that he stood there for years and lied his ass off?
Way too little, way too late. And, of course, not his fault, right?

Olbermann
[Read the article: A new low in Clinton bashing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I couldn't believe Keith Olbermann did a special comment on it"
Olbermann has been outright bashing Clinton non-stop for months. I have never heard him utter a critical word abotu Saint Obama.

Should you confront dad?
[Read the article: Should I confront my father about his affair?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]No, no, no, no. MYOB.
For the "crime" of snooping, you are sentenced to years of anxiety over what you wish you didn't know.

All about the oil
[Read the article: CNN/MSNBC reporter: Corporate executives forced pro-Bush, pro-war narrative]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]In his book American Theocracy, Kevin Phillips connects all the dots that explain exactly how this war is -- of course -- all about the oil. I knew Cheney wanted war in Iraq come hell or high water, but didn't really understand exactly why. This guy directly answers and traces the oil connection. Why was this never explored by the fine media professionals?

Obviously fake
[Read the article: Today in "Ugh": The perfect woman]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm sure the market for the "living doll" would demand larger breasts and hotter clothes.
