  • Get a job

[Read the article: I'm completely irresponsible and I live at home mooching off my parents]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

part time, finish the degree, and move out. Or just get a job and move out. You're 21, you don't need their permission. They'll live. Mom will get over it. Just make sure you move near public transporation or can walk to work in case they take the truck back.

It's really not that bleak at age 21. Just take steps now to make sure you can't write this letter when you're 27.

  • Rules are rules

[Read the article: Thanks for the heroism ... now get out!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I can see why they pulled her, although if that is the rule I don't see how she got there in the first place.

Let women take combat roles, as long as they can do the work. I can imagine that some things may require more strength, although I really don't know anything about it. As long as she can do the job, why not?

I don't think a woman's life is more valuable than a man's. If people freak about it, then maybe they'll get the troops home sooner.

  • Looks good

[Read the article: The new format]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Consistent format is a good idea, but then why is your background white while Greenwald's is tan? Also, I can't see your picture.

I like the idea that you might update more frequently. But maybe you could have it like GG's and have one full column, with updates at the bottom and other posts below that. I too prefer not to click to the rest of the top column.

I enjoy your writing. Any format is fine. Just promise you won't start doing those wretched videos!

  • Fox and friends

[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's big, brass ... fortitude]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

First, I'm sick of the whole "balls" thing. Even Colbert has pretty much beaten the term to death. Enough already.

As for Hillary on Fox, Joan why don't you forward your post to Keith "Why is that evil b*tch Hillary so mean to Saint Obama" Olbermann? He practically had a stroke on the air tonight over her appearance on O'Reilly, and over the fact that Rush et al are lobbying for her for their own no-doubt nefarious reasons.

  • Read the Wolff "immodest proposal"

[Read the article: Michael Wolff on sex and the Dems]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I think it is a joke, although the joke runs out after about a page.

But if you assume it isn't a joke, then it is a pathetic revelation of the author's insecurities. Obama at 46 is young and not middle aged? Fred Thompson is middle aged at 65? How old is Wolff that he has to shift things around this way? I'm guessing he's a lot closer to Thompson than Obama. Dude, bad news: Obama's middle aged, Thomspson's old. Deal with it.

    Or how about this one:

"The argument pits empowered soccer moms against guilty dads, a prosecutorial matriarchy against a nolo contendere patriarchy."

Oh, right. "Soccer mom" is usually synonymous with power.

In general, if this guy is serious, it's another of these great cross-legged articles that accuse the killjoy women of having all the power. Because if you look around at our government you see that women have taken over the Congress, the Courts, the White House, the corporations... nevermind. We're still in charge and ruining all the fun. While watching soccer.

  • The kids are alright

[Read the article: Michael Wolff on sex and the Dems]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

No offense but this is precisely why we, for once, need to let younger voters decide this election.

I believe the younger voters are already free to go and cast their votes.

  • Might as well...

[Read the article: What should Hillary Clinton do now?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

... go until early June. It's only weeks away. She should finish the primaries with a positive campaign, to try to restore some goodwill with those who have not liked her campaign, and go out on a high note. Then she should bow out, with whatever backroom negotiations would normally take place.

She should disappear for awhile, clearing the stage for Obama well before the convention, and take a real vacation. Then she should come back and campaign like hell for him. She should take all her skills that Obama people have been bitching about and turn them against McCain. In my mind, it would be great if she could do this as the VP candidate, but if not she should still do all she can to help him get elected.

I really wish she had won. But she didn't, so it is time to suck it up and do what politicians do -- support the guy who beat you. All of us Hillary Democrats need to do the same.

  • Not just alzheimer's

    [Read the article: Brain scam]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I believe this Amen guy is also a big ADHD quack as well.

  • This is why...

[Read the article: I'm a bisexual Christian husband and father]

...churches and society in general should get out of the gay-hating business. This man is probably gay, but buried it because it is seen as so unacceptable. So he does the best he can, convinces himself he likes women, and goes and marries one and has kids. Eventually, his real self catches up with him, he finally comes to terms with it and feels a burden lifted. (See McGreevy, Jim, former governor of New Jersey.) Meanwhile, the wife's life is ruined, at least until she gets the divorce and spends years getting over it. I'm sure she now feels very secure about her own sex appeal and knowledge of the man she married.

All you guys who have not yet talked yourself into marrying as a "cure," do youself and your future wife a big giant favor and accept yourself as you really are. Forget the church, your family, and whatever other judgmental jerks are making you feel bad about being gay. I'm sure it is very difficult, but it only gets worse when you have to hurt a wife and kids down the road.

Good luck to the LW, and especially to his wife. Because while he is on the exciting road of self discovery, albeit with good intentions, her world is crumbling and she's headed for a single parenthood she never bargained for.

When he does leave her, and he finds exciting new love with a man and feels terrific, finally, after all these years, grant the woman a big kindness: don't tell her about it. Raise your children and support her as a parent. It's about all you can do at this point.
