Original article: Does Madonna still matter?

no, but....

....regardless of what you think of her, Madonna will always be a pop star who put out some truly great records. But what's with the obsession with looking like a porno slut/dominatrix? It's sooooooo tired. Same question for you, Janet Jackson. And Camille Paglia, please lose the leather miniskirt-I'm begging you! No, not THAT way.

is it just me...

...or is Hillary now getting the "silent majority" that Nixon, of all people, used to speak of?

Friday, May 23, 2008 08:01 AM

and the winner is....

I've been waiting 7 years for a truly great vocal performance on AI; not Mariah-esque note holding or I-have-stubble-on-my-chin-therefore-I'm-cool posturing. No, I'm talking about a performance that's textured, has color, has an intellectuality.FINALLY I got my wish. Problem is it was delivered by George Michael, not one of the contestants.....

Original article: "Sex and the City"

it's that whole "Ross and Rachel" thing.....

Loved the show, loved the movie BUT why devote almost the entire plot to whether Carrie and Big end up together. That was never what was funny or thought provoking on the series. That constant love/hate/make-up/break-up story arc is tired, not to mention the fact that it leaves Ms. Fierce herself, Carrie, in a state of depression for more than half the running time. That's as mean as tripping her on the runway!

Original article: Viva Hillary Clinton!

It's about to get less interesting...

The bottom line is that, love her or hate her, she is truly the wild card in this election. Without her we're left with two dullards who are about as standard issue Dem/Rep as you can get. And it looks like we're not even going to have the Chicago "Jerry Springer Church" for entertainment anymore. Viva Hillary indeed!

if the baby survives.......

I can't understand why the conservatives haven't jumped on Obama's controversial take on a baby surviving a partial birth abortion. He is,to my knowledge, the only senator who says the baby should be left to "expire" if it happens to survive the abortion and is completely outside the mother. Even Clinton and Feinstein say that, in those instances, the baby is to get immediate medical attention.

Original article: "Hancock"

Am I the only one.......

......who thinks Will Smith is the MOST OVERRATED actor working today? He scrunches his face and furrows his brow to convey emotion- typical of a pop star trying to act. Those scenes of him talking to his dog in "I Am Legend" were enough to turn me off him forever. Even in a "serious" movie like "Six Degrees of Seperation" he shows absolutely no talent.

I finally agree with you on something...

I have never had to jump up and find the television clicker as often as during the week(!) following Russert's death. If I heard the words "more than anything else he was a son and father" one more time I would have thrown something at my T.V. What does that even mean? That the rest of us don't have parents or children? That our deaths won't really matter because we don't have a Sunday morning political show, or a folksy father with a cute nickname who "still loves his Buffalo Bills"? Gag me!

Friday, August 1, 2008 07:07 AM

The first to use the race card...

...was Donna Brazile when Bill Clinton used the term "fairy tale" and Brazile said she was offended "as an African American" Huh? Why is this woman on my T.V. set every Sunday morning?

Original article: "Pineapple Express"

a different take

I have a different angle on the "stoner comedy" issue. It is virtually impossible to actually be stoned at a movie unless you smoke in the theater. By the time you navigate the crowds (always a buzz kill) and sit through 20 minutes of mind numbing coming attractions, the high's gone. It's actually worse than being straight, because then you're in that no man's land of either smoke more or take a nap......

Original article: I'm so bored with O-B-A-M-A

Just read the previous letters....

Not only do I have a serious case of fatigue, but what I'm REALLY sick of is everyone looking for any story with the names Obama and/or McCain in them, and then posting a response filled with talking points either for or against Barack. The original premise of this article was fatigue yet as usual the pro and antis used as one more excuse to foam at the mouth. For the first time in my adult life, I'm not watching the debates- I'm going to go to a movie- one NOT starring anyone with outspoken political views. Enough already!

Original article: Whew!

the first charge of racism

.....was given by DONNA BRAZILE regarding WJC's use of the words "fairy tale". Remember? She said it offended her "as an African American". She also refused to say she was in Obama's camp while guesting on the Sunday morning talk shows. even though it was plainly obvious, as she treated any news regarding Hillary with scorn, something Gwen Ifill has also done throughout the campaign. To make matters worse, noe Ifill is hosting the vice-presidential debates.......are the powers-that-be still nervously afraid of black people?

last night on "Nightline"

Saw Edwards' pathetic explanation last night- he's STILL lying! Does he actually think we're dumb enough to think that a friend and supporter of his was handing this woman a check on a monthly basis but it had nothing to do with the affair?!? And what's with ABC, CBS and NBC all getting scooped by the National Enquirer! One more thing- Martin Bashir....EWWWWWWW

Original article: Crying Wolfson

Yes, yes...

...we (Hillary's Army) are just a bunch of poor losers, complainers, and we just can't accept that BAM beat her fair and square. Why, you could say we're starting to sound like hysterical women! Even those of us who are men! What none of you fess up to is the fact that if Hil had gotten the nomination, you'd be hearing more than on-line griping. You'd be hearing threats, boycotts, and of course the mainstream media would be saying "shiva" prayers.

It has nothing to do with liberalism

I consider myself a left-of-center voter but I truly despise Rachel Maddow. When she was on the Today show recently she was asked about the campaigns and basically refused to even comment on McCain's options- She is a walking stereotype- the kool-ade drinking Liberal who won't even COMMENT on the opposition.

Original article: It's Biden

No Hillary No Curtis

Obama's a foolish man who obviously isn't putting winning first.

Obama supporters screaming tokenism?!? Let's think about this for a moment..........
