Joan, thanks for your rehash of Shrillary and Obama's debate on ABC. It's always so nice when someone tells us what the candidates (and the Shrub, for that matter) say. We are really too stupid to figure it out for ourselves.
I say, let Shrillary hang herself. She about has enough rope to do it after her many faux pas. The problem with lying is, a person forgets what s/he has said.
If I were Obama, I'd be tired and impatient, too. Imagine how Americans would feel dealing with this wo/man after six months (or less). Shrillary is,IMO, helping McBush to win in November.
You go, Obama!!!
This is exactly why the media--all forms of it--no longer are valid, IMO. It's smoke and mirrors. Lies and innuendo. Are the TV channels/commentators bought and paid for? Is that where our tax money goes? Is that where campaign funds go?
If one just listens to the candidates and watches their body language, it soon becomes evident who is sincere and who is taking a ride for the attention.
You go, Obama!
OK. Let me get this straight. Anyone who does NOT wear a flag pin is anti-America? What's next? Underwear and sox made from discarded American flags to show loyalty? Crosses tattooed on the foreheads of Catholics? The Star of David tattooed on the foreheads of Jews? Well no, that would not be separation of Church and State, now, would it. Oh, that's right. Bush can simply amend the Constitution! How ridiculous can you get. I don't wear a flag pin, and yet I yearn for the America I used to know, and which has slid pretty much into the sewer the past eight years. You bet I'll vote for the person I feel is the best qualified come November. None of this voting for Shrillary because she is a female, or Obama because he is black, or McBush because he's a clone of what we've had these past eight years.
Please, if you are old enough to vote, vote intelligently and with thought. Ignore the media.
Another way to put this might be "America has gone Blonde."
Yes, what passes for humor on TV is a sad statement of our times. To wit: Office, My Name is Earl, 30 Rock, anything with a Baldwin brat in it, Reality shows, all the greed shows. What passes for commercials is equally contemptible. But, you see, the writers are playing to impressionable teens and pre teens whose morals are being formatted. I doubt they even watch TV--they are too absorbed in their other electronic toys. Writers assume the Millenium Generation is stupid. Wrong! They are smart enough not to watch TV shows--except for winners like South Park.
Hello? Has anyone noticed any improvement in TV writing since the writers' strike ended? I haven't. Bad as ever.
Sure, everyone is bitter about something, and there's been a whole lot to be bitter about these past eight years. How long will it take to disinfect the Crawford Clan's Stetson Politics from our hisory?
I find Obama's remark refreshingly honest. I find all the flack about it depressingly political. This campaign has been one of the nastiest in a long time--and they are all pretty nasty.
Can we get over the nitpicking and stick to issues? And puleeze let this campaigning end!
In no way does Shrillary remind me of my mother. My mother was a lady. She would have had nothing to do with the likes of this would-be-male.
After reading several of these pro-Clinton comments, I am more convinced than ever that the Education system in this country is worse than I imagincd. Instead of NO child left behind, an entire generation or two seems to have been left behind. Unfortunately, women are going to vote for Shrillary because she claims to be a woman. Forget any yet to emerge qualifications. Please. Think very carefully before you go to the polls in November.
Cheney is probably worse than McCain and Bush combined. McCain would, at the least, be a four-year extension of Bush, and we simply cannot subject our country to that. America is in real trouble--lacking in acceptable leadership and anything resembling manners and proper protocol. Time to put those cowboy boots back at Crawford and never hear the name Bush again in the world of politics.
Unfortunately, our Democratic candidates are not the best we should have. Unfortunately, unthinking and uneducated voters will express their choice in November. God help us all.
OK. So you are saying that everyone who does not wear a lapel flag is unAmerican and unpatriotic? And everyone who DOES wear a flag IS? Nonsense. Bush wears a flag pin, and what constructive deed has he done for this country in eight years? I don't wear a flag pin and consider myself more actively involved in saving and restoring our country than most of the people I have contact with. This stupidity reminds me of people who wear a cross to indicate their religious beliefs. "An outward sign of an inward belief." Really? The logic escapes me. But I don't blame you bloggers. You've been robbed of your education. Teachers simply do not teach anymore. And they shouldn't be allowed to with their dated knowledge. But that's for another blog.
Get over the "significance" of a flag lapel.
Why does anyone find it necessary to play the race card for Obama? And if there IS a reason, where is an article on why anyone finds it necessary to play the "woman" card for Shrillary? These are not legitimate reasons to vote for either candidate. We should be looking at qualifications along with the acknowledgement that this country cannot survive another four years under McBush and the Republicans. Come On, folks, don't sink to this level. Please.
