So few Elizabeth Bennets and so many Holly Golightlys populate this country today. They are a pretty unattractive lot. And so unwise.
They too often give their sex to the wrong men (who willingly if guiltily are more than willing to take it until love comes along).
And many have forgotten the wise words of Lear when describing his beloved daughter:
"Her voice was ever soft, gentle and low, an excellent thing in woman."
I know, many women will say, "sexist." But ask the men who will make the kind of husbands and lovers women long for. They know what they long for too and will shake their heads knowingly.
What are we scared of? How's this:
1. The life expectancy of gay men. You can attribute it to whatever you want, but the fact that anal sex introduces all sorts of horrendous things into their bodies and leaves many riddled with STDs is almost certainly a big part of it.
2. God and evolution both ordained that the penis is to enter the vagina and not the external anal sphincter and rectum. The vagina was designed by God or time to accept the penis without injury and the rectum was not.
3. When society at large does not keep gay men in line, they act terribly irresponsibly. AIDS in America is largely a disease that gay men who participate in anal sex have contracted and their irresponsible ways are no doubt to blame for that--that does not scare you?
The question asked was, "What are we so scared of?"
Here is one more: The blood of promiscuous gay men entering into the blood supply and ultimately spreading the virus to hemophiliac children.
I am not sure what world some of you live in, but I live in a world of cause and effect. God or evolution made the eye to see not eat. Just so, the male rectum was made for transporting waste from the body, not sexual activity. If you put food in your eye, there is a consequence. And if you tear the lining of the rectum and introduce who knows what into your body, there is a consequence.
You tell me--why are so many gay men apparently riddled with a huge variety of STDs? And if it is in any way related to the sodomy they engage in, why isn't that something to be afraid of? (A very different question, by the way, then what if anything society should do about it)And if persons engaging in sodomy ultimately impacts the general population by spreading disease, wny shouldn't those who don't engage in such activity have the right to say, "sodomy is not a good thing and we should do what we can to discourage it and limit its ability to impact those who don't engage in it"?
I can love individual gay men and women and appreciate the good they bring to the world and still hold the conviction that sodomy is not good for them or the rest of us. This is not homophobic or hateful--it is simply a reasoned conclusion from looking at the evidence.
And by the way, Bigguns, the answer to your question whether fat people or smokers contribute to the health care crisis? In the real world of cause and effect the answer is yes. This does not make them evil or me hateful for concluding that a smoker contributes to the problem of health care by using resources that could probably go elsewhere if the person did not smoke. Perhaps you should examine the politically correct opinions you hold in light of what is happening in the real world.
Homophobia kills very few gay men. But the lifestyle of gay men kills many. And whether you are gay yourself, whether someone you love is gay, or whether you are concerned about the impact on the general public, it is good reason to be worried. What are we scared of? That.
A number of the posters here raised that old canard that, if you believe gas sex is wrong you must be gay. Nice try. If that is true, these postings suggest that a whole bunch of you who support sodomy are fundamentalists! And for those who think some posters are obsessed with anal sex, may I remind you that it is the subject of the article.
And why will some of you not address facts? The MRSA facts and STD facts and suicide facts and drug addiction facts and biological facts, etc. provide answers to why we are or should be scared. The postings here have barely addressed those facts and have focused largely opinion.
Some day the joe and jane six packs of the world will realize that the liberal elites who run the Democratic party are slowly but surely committing suicide and taking joe and jane and their kids with them. I just hope they realize it before its too late.
Should terrorists be treated like US citizens? Yup says the libelite.
Should partially born children be painfully killed but convicted mass murderers be spared or at least executed without pain? Yup.
Should prison libraries be better-stocked than school libraries? Yup.
How about letting poor African Americans who can't afford to live in the nice suburbs the libelites live in spend their school tax dollars on private schools of their choice? Nope--the crime-ridden, drug-infested, public schools with their25% graduation rate is good enough for them.
And on and on it goes till one day . . .
