A little late to this thread

but at least i want to chime in with a comment. I am heartened by the direction BS has taken this past year, in at least trying to present some aspect of a male viewpoint in addition to the stated female position.

I would agree that I think these gender issues could be expanded onto the rest of the site because really, these issues do affect every one of us and it is a shame that it should only be relegated to one section of the site where it might be missed or considered less important or topical or worse yet, something only women are supposed to read.

No Way Out

Conclusion? This stuff can't really be taught.

Time to just give up now and off ourselves I guess, or else continue living the life of being outside the candy store window staring in.

Manny

my brother is a stay at home dad raising twins and he loves it. He gets to play with the kids, take them to the pool or the mall, or for a walk while wifey brings home the bacon.

I think this will be a fad though as more women chicken out of full time work and get back into the house from jealousy of seeing the dads loving staying at home.

Love it while it lasts.

the conclusion I come to

is women do not want to be bothered. They will approach you if they are interested.

But then women don't want to approach men, they want men to make the first move. Sometimes they try to indicate interest in secretive and subtle ways.

But men and women do not communicate in the same ways verbally or physically, so men miss cues that to women would seem obvious.

So we are back at square one with the man approaching, either because he got not cue or because he is eager to meet the woman.

But the woman does not want to be bothered...

what is MISSING in this picture?

I guess my point is

how are men and women supposed to meet if women refuse to be overt about their interest and they refuse men approaching them?

Seems the planet would have died out a long time ago if men like Mystery and his followers did not exist.

CUTE

It makes them crazy that they and guys like them don't have automatic access to "the candy store" (nice turn of phrase, Brightstar. It says everything about your attitude towards women right there.)

I cannot take credit, but the 'candy store' phrase was taken from the Santana song 'Game of Love' with Michelle Branch as the singer. So you can blame her and/or the songwriter for objectifying 'love' and MEN.

As for Mister Friend-of-VS-Woman and his loves. I am sure he never had a peoblem getting women to fall over him effortlessly, or else he would understand where AVERAGE men come from when we grouse about this stuff.

One More Comment

Y'all think it is just me and Mortal and a few other so callled 'miscreants' grousing, but I will tell you, I know SOOOooo many men who are decent guys who cannot get laid to save their lives.

They were taught in the seventies to be a certain way when they were growing up is best I can guess. A way that women REJECT because these guys are not 'hard edged' enough to appeal to women's baser instincts.

Sure, I can hang out with blowhard alpha males and learn how they interact with women, as unappealing as that sounds, but at least Mystery and his ilk are taking the 'mystery' out of the games BOTH sexes play and that we milder guys never learned thru our hard knocks.

And all you women that complain you would never fall for lines or Mysterys, I can tell you more often than not, you are bedding alpha assholes anyway (then pissing and moaning about them). So your comments amount to nothing.

By Feminine Man

you mean a nagging complainer? A clean freak? Someone who would bite your head off if you got between him and his kid? Someone who watches soaps? Eyeliner?

villainizing female sexuality?

proof?

That is but one example and the one in the article to boot

Men's sexuality is NEVER villianized? My point is women get pretty much a free ride in this regard. It is men who are constantly considered villians for having an active interest in sex.

Really

feminism should be welcomed there. What society would NOT welcome with open arms a world where divorce is universal, lesbians bear kids, good men are isolated and frustrated, bad men enjoy scads of sex with numerous random partners, children grow up without fathers, and the sexes treat each other like dirt in a downward spiral.
