Brightfart and the Anonymuck, who is his running buddy if not himself, have not only twisted the posts of the women here, they have outright lied.
In order to have a meaningful discussion, a person needs to interpret something that someone else said by making a comment about it.
In doing this, the person making the comment takes the quite reasonable risk of misunderstanding the intent of the other person's writing. I might comment about what the article said, and I might say something that someone interprets as being dishonest, but is merely my interpretation of what the other person said.
But if noone takes the chance to challenge anything written by anyone else, what does this board devolve to but a sycophantic ass kissing fest?
Broadsheet brings up a lot of hot gender topics, topics that often scream out to be challenged in our gender tortured society.
Yet when someone like me challenges the article, I get mocked, lied about, insulted, namecalled, mistreated, misconstrued. ANYTHING but someone giving me a valid counterargument that is fair and decent.
I never said anything about hating women in my life. If I HATED WOMEN, WHY WOULD I BOTHER TRYING TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE OF OUR SOCIETY'S DETERIORATING MALE FEMALE RELATIONS?!?! Or do you freaks deny that there is a problem???
Here are some of my pet peeves:
- So called tolerant liberals who cannot tolerate any viewpoint but their own being repeated back at them
- So called egalitarian feminists who cannot stand that men also have an opinion
- So called feminists who cannot stand that men are telling them to pony up to the bar and be responsible for their own decisions
How is any of this related to so called troll behavior?
Broadsheet always threatens to become the pink ghetto so many of its readers so desperately want it to be because too few people discuss SUBSTANTIVELY any of the topics. Too many people are too ready to jump on others for making interesting, challenging counterarguments.
Believe me, I am sorry I live on a planet where on one side are fascistic libs who want to ostracize anyone they disagree with and on the other side are fascistic conservatives who want to kill anyone they disagree with.
WHERE IS THE MIDDLE?!? I was hoping Salon was it, the GODDAMN NAME certainly implies it.
I always suspected Berkeley and other lib universities were sycophantic clusterfucks, where diversity was ignored in favor of uniformity, but the insults being lobbed am me merely prove that TRUE ACADEMIA, honest libertine thinking, lies well beyond and outside the priss ivy prisons you POWERHUNGRY people so desperately want to impose on the rest of the world. If it was up to the libs, the men would merely be slaves to women. I do not want this, does this make me a CRIMINAL?!?
If my comments bother you, ignore them, or ASK WHY THEY BOTHER YOU, is it because I am wrong, or is it because deep down YOU KNOW I AM RIGHT?
I get so sick of people telling me I am small dicked or hate women or whatever, yet these jokes of human beings never have the gumption to actually tell me in a logical manner what I am saying that is wrong? Are they just incapable of critical thinking? methinks, more and more so.

because they will tell you they are always victims and men are always perpetrators, therefore there can never be something mythical called male bashing.
because the girls cannot literally put their fist thru your computer screen and punch you, there is no such thing as male bashing.
But GOD FORBID you challenge anything they DECREE about men, women, life, or anything that they find valuable. Women's word is final, and god help the man who DARES to step out of line and challenge it. These men know where they get to go, they get to sleep on the couch tonight.
And so it is, men exist, women control them. worse yet, by doing these things at us, the women DO NOT RESPECT THE MEN AT ALL. WE ARE HERE TO SERVE THEM.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]brings up a very valid point, a lot of players KNOW that if they portray themselves as being pro feminist, talk the talk, that they get a lot more 'entree', even though they really do not believe it themselves.
the bitter irony of course is that I internalized feminism myself virtually from birth, was steeped in it, (I believe men and women can be and are equals) but because I do not 'act' like a pro feminist guy, I may as well be the beer swilling neanderthal who thinks it ok to bash the little woman's skull in if she misbehaves.
