I agree
[Read the article: Egypt outlaws female circumcision]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Female genital mutilation is not circumcision
I agree, just like in boys, nothing but the clitoral hood should be cut off in little girls against their will and without anasthesia.

Maybe this is a way
[Read the article: Grown women: I want mommy!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]for the wife to have an ally to gang up against the poor schmoe, I mean, typical American husband.
Never underestimate the secretive underhanded treasonous agenda lurking beneath the sunny exterior of a typical American woman.

I state again
[Read the article: Single women eat babies!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I GIVE UP.
I attended a seminar this week and was enthralled by a woman attending the seminar from another office in the company. I tried to figure out ways to breach the gulf with her and make her comfortable with me. I was not sure she was interested in me, but I did feel some chemistry and it was implied in her behavior toward me that she felt something (gas?, brain farts?) because I caught her staring at me at least three times. When I finally introduced myself, she took my hand with both hands and acted very sweet with me. Then it was back to her shell.
I GIVE UP. I do not know what clue I am supposed to look for anymore. I always act cool around women I am interested in and I figure if a woman is not making some effort to be around me, that she is not interested in me. Are women waiting for some clue from the guy that I am not giving out?
I figure if I imply I am interested in her, she will just laugh at it in my face. I mean who am I? The whole thing is ridiculous.
My understanding is that in Europe if a woman is interested in a man, she does not hesitate to let him know. So much for liberated women in America.
What is wrong with American women??? (why do I even ask to open this bucket of worms?)

I am certain
[Read the article: Single women eat babies!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]you will tell me the blame always lies with men.
making you WRONG.

Nah
[Read the article: "Women's caravans" to the rescue]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I would have thought, too, that the supposedly liberal readers of Salon would be supportive of local agriculture for many economic, social and environmental reasons.
The prime feminist equation is:
men suck
farmers are usually men
farmers suck

Yeh, no kidding
[Read the article: Single women eat babies!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Remains of the Day, GREAT MOVIE! I've never looked at Anthony Hopkins the same since.
Short ending to the story. By the time we actually talked it was but two short hours til I had to high tail it out of the meetings early to catch a plane (during a seminar).
I figured I might make it up by eventually emailing her about business stuff and going from there. But who am I kidding. I am in Houston, she in Dallas.
I might try the grapevine to see if she is indeed engaged. After staring at her finger for several hours from less than ten feet away, I could still not determine if her ring was an engagement ring or not. It had a greenish clearish stone, but was rather elaborate. On the other hand (literally) was a similar ring. The possible engagement ring was on the middle finger of her left hand. Hell, maybe she is engaged after all, which of course negates the whole enchilada.
I guess there is still potential despite me missign the boat on this, but it would take a real Casanova to wring value out of this thing.
On MY other hand, a nice, sweet girl moved into my house. I am mildly attracted to her but I am staying cool. I am merely being polite and nice now. I doubt it will lead to something, but weirder things have happened. She seemed to find me nice and respectable, so maybe. I'll invite her to some places. But then she reminds me too much of my high school sweetheart, so I am sure I am projecting onto this girl.
Then again, REALITY CHECK, she is 28, I am 41. Who am I kidding?

Twasn't Moi
[Read the article: "Women's caravans" to the rescue]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]but more and more men agree with that sentiment, even if they are lying to you to get you into the sack for the night.

I work in Houston
[Read the article: Single women eat babies!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]M-F and go to Austin for the weekend.
Sucks because Houston sucks.
Tho my brother lives in the DFW area, hmm, maybe need to spend more time up there on weekends.

If there was money in it
[Read the article: To Pixar: We love it. But next time, could you add a girl?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]the studios would bowl over EVERYTHING to chase that money down.
truth is women piss and moan that there are few female leads, then when a movie comes out with a female lead, nobody goes.
As always, there are exceptions and occasionally a female led movie makes it big, but the big movie studios did not become very wealthy because they were stupid.

Occams Razor is a broken crutch
[Read the article: We are meant to be here]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]any moron walking thru Disneyland would falsely apply Occam's Razor and, looking at a plastic rock, call it a real rock, which of course would be a mistake. After all, why SHOULD a rock be fake when it is simpler to conclude that a rock is natural unless more proof to the contrary is presented.
Where these Occam's snobs get nasty is when they insist they are ALWAYS correct, particularly in cases where it is difficult to get more information about the phenomenon or object they are applying OR to.

I can imagine
[Read the article: More gloom for GM and Ford, more joy for Toyota]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The American auto industry is run by a bunch of morons similar to the kind populating the large company I currently work for.
They are basically the guys who in high school sat in the bcak, cheated on tests, bullied people, and figured they would get away with things because nobody suspects any different.
In business, you do not get away with things.
Think, most large companies, what are the priorities for average Americans? Getting ahead any which way, backstabbing, petty rivalries, brownnosing, protecting your turf, staying below the radar, short term thinking. It's all been portrayed on TV 100 times.
The reality is that other countries eat our lunch because our K-12 schools program Americans to be passive imbeciles rather than teaching them critical thinking skills.
