The reasons are probably many-- it is not like men can do anything about it, men have a realistic attitude about how they are or can be perceived so they do not feel above such a criticism, the alpha men whose leads other men follow tend to understand that they are more piggish than their nicer beta men so they accept the criticism, most men do not mind an insult because it gives them an 'in' to show or comment that they are better than that, snootiness has probably been bred out of the male genome because what woman would choose a man who complains every time his gender is scorned, most men realize it is a fictional depiction, many men like humor even when it is self deprecating, many men consciously or not develop a 'player' persona that incorporates humor so they are used to using self humor as a foil, lots of men could care less as long as they have a beer in one hand and their girlfriend's tit in the other. I could go on
