I couldn't give a flip about
[Read the article: "I'm so tired of America"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Rufus Wrightwain. I couldn't tell you one song he did or why he matters. He seems perfect for the Salon/Wallpaper/whatever hip-oddity-is-next crowd. Best I can guess is he qualifies as royalty automatically, talent or not, because his parents got in with the hipoisie on the Manhattan/Catskills honey granola circuit. And because his name is unusual and vaguely British.
But one cool thing from his past, (I THINK it was him) is that he was friends with Melissa Auf Der Maur when they were both living in Montreal. I don't know why I like her except that her name is cool, she is a beautiful cool redhead who rocks and who was in Hole then Smashing Pumpkins (briefly). But I couldn't name one of her songs either.

Name even ONE interesting F to M --
[Read the article: Engendering change]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]i just think it's a bit conspicuous that the only 'good news' on broadsheet is progress for a movement whose most vocal members are men. i'm all for transgender rights, but it just underscores the power of the patriarchy...
More male bashing.
If anyone props up a so called patriarchy it is WOMEN.
Women do love one thing about men, they are endlessly fascinated by the power SUCCESSFUL TALENTED men have, since so few women are capable or interested enough in being world class good at anything. (Read my comments about how women are not motivated or talented enough to produce good work even in non-gender discriminating free and open markets BEFORE you criticize me for my comment)
Really, if there was this patriarchal effect, you would hear tons of good stuff about female to male transsexuals and how they finally decided to make the right decision in becoming men.
My opinion, but I think AVERAGE women's egos are far more vast than are AVERAGE men's, hence you see this fascination among women that men were smart enough to become the so called 'fairer' sex, which justifies women's feelings of gender superiority. (Men's ego is based on achievement and on faking it til you make it. Whereas women's is based on their INNATE core strengths as gatekeepers of life, which means it is intrinsic, meeaning it cannot be removed and is not threatened, which leads to inevitable ego abuses).
Gender bending fascinates, but usually only when it is men taking up habits normally reserved for women. Boy George endlessly pleased women and some men (me especially) with his sass and weird beauty. Pete Burns, Prince, the character Ruby Rhod in Fifth Element, Eddie Izzard, they and many more are all fascinating.
but name even ONE female to male transcender who interests anyone even slightly. I can't. But I am not the so called 'patriarchy', so what gives for this misandry of the poster's original comment?

Pooooooor Anonymouses
[Read the article: Protect your private bits!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]having to listen to people complain.
Get this. If no man EVER spoke up about abuses to men, women would STILL think (like they actually DO) that it is OK to mutilate baby boys.
It DOES MATTER. Because every women and man that comes across this issue is then left to actually QUESTION their decision about circ when they do have a baby boy.
And women are part of the problem. I cannot count how many women have been pigs enough to post comments back to me that they prefer cut men to the extent that they would not do it with uncut men because they are dirty.
So really, the equivalent to this would be all the men who post on this board to say that women SHOULD all have their lips trimmed back without their consent during the first six months so that the men who have sex with them later will have a clean canvas, as it were, to paint on.
Men listened to women piss and moan for decades. Men lobbied government to change the laws to give women equal rights (government, contrary to feminists diatribes, is run by men to serve not ALL other men, but to serve society, society being first and foremost ALL WOMEN and the few POWERFUL men and their institutions). I do not see women doing the same for men today, defending men that is. I do not see women looking beyond their navel and even trying to understand any viewpoints men have or if they do it is with seething resentment and a cold fake sentiment. This says to me (and to more and more men picking up on it everyday) that women really ultimately DO care less about men than do men about women, which of course leads to the next question, why do men even care about women at all.
This tree is free to shake. Men speak up and suddenly the sky is falling for women. Sure, when feminism is built on a fraudulent and shaky base of lies and fabrications against men, the men MUST be controlled to not let them mouth off and the base collapse of its own corruption.
