First of all, the 'men as oppressors' crap really needs to stop. Men only do what women demand of them.

With men, just open a history book or a newspaper and the examples fall right out by the dozen.

Same with honor killings. What is the course of decision making behind honor killings? The men usually play by the script laid down by past examples of how the culture is run. WOMEN, not men, lay out and decide the tenor of the culture. In those cultures with honor killings, you can usually see the old grannies in the back are the ones drooling the most over the prospect of some young women being taken down a notch for her transgressions. Same with prostitution remaining illegal in this country, it is driven by jealous wives, not by the men who would surely benefit from legal and cheap sex with hot young bodies.

If men are overly represented in the history books, it is because women are either too stupid to make much of a dent or else they are smarter than the men and manipulate the men into doing their bidding (and then laying blame at men's feet for it too). Today, with women exceeding men in colleges, men still produce 90% of significant achievements, even in the free arts where PURE MERIT of the work leads to success (the few phenomenal successes such as the FEMALE Harry Potter author merely prove that the market does not shun talent because of gender). The second path, that of manipulating men, is not taken seriously because women make sure to manipulate men to cede that their egos cannot accept that their strings are being pulled. Most AVERAGE men are not powerful at work, and you can ask most married men if they are in charge of their household, the answer again is NO. Oh sure, the men are made to FEEL as if they have some power over their women, if only to stoke the wives rape fantasies of being 'taken' once a year on Valentines Day or their wedding anniversary, but this is all a canard.
