She asserts that God wants us to murder in Iraq. Such a belief precludes belief in a God that forbids murder. She's just an extremist and many of her extreme ideological kin have posted in this thread.
Torturing and killing in Jesus's name, who was tortured and killed, also makes her insane.
How many people have died in Iraq? How many are now armless? Legless? Blind?
Remember that Palin asserted that the Christian God wants us there and alleged Christians elected and reelected Bush. Therefore, that's Christian violence. It's just far, far away, so you don't have to look into eyes emptied of life.
"Whew!" for you, eh?
Abortion will always be legal. The Republicans need it to win elections. Thus, they will always fight to keep it legal. Just hating gay citizens isn't enough to win elections, you know.
...posting for the first time.
Anyone have a can of Raid?
And since Palin believes that Iraq is God's war, why aren't her supporters in this thread over there instead of here?
God wants you to go fight!
So, go!
Speaking of tushies, here's why they're odd:
A. They can be the sexiest side of a person.
B. They can also be simultaneously funny.
C. No crack, be it the crack of a buff youngin or a gruff plumber, is pretty.
Regarding McCain, given his track record of strippers, trophy wives, and homewrecking, he should keep his paws off.
They've been sent over here to "edjookate us libruhls."
But how can they linger here when God wants them to fight His war over there?
Oh, yeah, they're cowards. And they don't really, truly believe what Palin believes, which is that God wants us to continue the occupation of Iraq.
...I'd shrug. We all auction off pieces of ourselves everyday. What makes the vagina sacrosanct? I think my mind is more fundamental to me than my vagina and I rent my mind just about every damn day. Yep, I'm a cerebral whore. So is Ms. Clark-Flory.
Mighty cool of you to apologize. It's accepted and then some.
The first time posters are getting gabby. Witness joQQeb's post.
This thread is also crawling with first-timer fundies.
Shoo!
There's no fun to be had in arguing with acolytes of torture. One doesn't get dirty. One gets bloody.
Off to torture, Bush voters!
Responding to that mish-mash and doing so with aplomb warrants praise.
glencadia, individuals have personal narratives and we're alert to events that sustain those narratives. For example, people who believe that they're luckless embrace the moment when the car sprays them with water from the gutter. They recount that moment. They tell and retell it. Likewise, there are cultural narratives. In your example, you observed work that is narrated as women's and work that is narrated as men's, but the reality is much more fluid. That's very, very cool. Thanks for sharing.
I have a story to share too. When my mom leaves her husband, she bakes a dish and puts a little label on it, so that he'll know how to reheat it. I think that's pathetic. He's so confined by gender roles that he might as well live in a crib. Likewise, as I've stated in other threads, I think women who can't turn a wrench are equally pathetic. Feminism should be about removing everyone from the crib, shucking the diapers, and pulling on the big girl and big boy underpants.
Maybe you "dumb down" and maybe you're just being kind.
A friend once watched me at a party and she said, "You give everyone an IQ test before you really engage them. How kind of you."
She wasn't being snarky. She admired my assaying. Why should we talk above or below someone? Maybe you too are being kind, rather than dumbing down.
I assume some neocon agency has targeted Salon and assigned all these first time posters to clog Salon's threads. Can you track their ISPs? Discern a pattern? C'mon! It's time for investigative journalism!
The incongruity that I keep returning to is that the "Christian" neocons adore the tortured Christ. And they, in turn, torture.
Great, great post. I'm often disturbed by the fundamentalists rejecting evolution, but embracing microwaves, which came from the same process. Of course, they embrace that which makes their lives easier and reject that which makes their faith harder. One would think that they must necessarily be terracentric rather than heliocentric, but they aren't, for they heap inconsistencies upon inconsistencies.
SALON editors, these first time posters are genuinely annoying. What are their ISPs? Is there a pattern? I suspect that some neocon organization has assigned five people to be pretend to be a hoard. And they might be doing so on my dime: with tax dollars.
I know your sister! She's laurel962, right?!?
Palin kills wolves. Is that the subtext?
She's the utter antithesis of kufir666.
Nice to read that those with stars on their bellies didn't get to hog the beach.
If I remember correctly, kufir666, in the last Rachel Maddow thread, commented on her appearance. Yep, he's obsessed.
Here's something creepy: Image him watching her with an "I support the troops" sticker on his bum while he's got one hand in his Cheetos and the other in his britches.
I forgot that kufir666 was that troll. There are so many.
I'll take over for ya:
I'm a Republican mom and I suddenly love Ms. Paglia as much as I love apple pie, my meaty, fourteen Aryan sons, and Old Glory, which I leave hanging from my front porch, 24/7, rain and shine!*
* Well, actually, I'm a hairy-backed fella who's been paid to register and re-register as an apron-wearing hausfrau, but it's been fun to pretend that I'm all hot and bothered for Ms. Paglia and Ms. Palin.
also going to swarm with first time posters, aka neocon operatives?
He saw Ms. Traister's byline and the word, "feminists," in the title of her essay and here he is, the Troll King of Circumlocution.
Shoo, neocon operative!
And yes, let's ignore Palin.
