Original article: Rolling with the punches

@ jprfrog

I think some of the trolls here have some sort of pathology. They elected Bush twice. Bush is one of our country's worst presidents. What's left but shame for Bush voters?

San Francisco values joined the two of them before Ms. Martin died.

There are monsters, albeit ordinary monsters without warts and horns who shop and rent DVDs and believe that some citizens are more equal than others, who want to sever such love. Damn them all.

I'd save the phrase, "beating up on women,"

for those women who get literally get beat up. I know you want to snag readers, but Fox getting silly about Buffy doesn't look like this:

@ dterrydraw

It would be cool if Ms. Clark-Flory replied, but if you want a reply, you'll have to post in King Kaufman's threads or Glenn Greenwald's. We're left to chat amongst ourselves here.

dterrydraw, I think you put more time and thought into your reply to Ms. Clark-Flory than she put into her essay/article. Such a thoughtful reply on your part merits another thoughtful reply, but that won't happen, even though, ironically, merit is your primary concern.

I'd worry about my kids becoming Christians.

The fundy Christians saw that Jesus was tortured. They, in turn, torture. If that's the message, I don't want my kids to get it.

The only way Fox could be anymore to the right would be to give el duche his own show.

Now, off to Iraq with you! Freedom is on the march! Don't be left behind! You're missing the Intergalactic War on Terror!!

Great post, Alex O'Neal.

Thanks!

@ laurel962

Maybe you can't be a giraffe, but you've somehow managed, by cutting and dicing of your long-ago compassion, to transition from a woman to an anus.

We all know your feelings about trans people and gay people, so why reiterate hate?

Here's a website you'll like: www.godhatesfags.com

The people there agree with you. Hooray for you! You have some like-minded peeps!!

Republicans are hippies.

Here's their theme song: "...Sha-la-la-la-la-la, drill for today And don't worry 'bout tomorrow, hey, hey, hey Sha-la-la-la-la-la, drill for today...."

And just never you mind about that pesky peak oil!

Yep, Republicans are hippies, albeit hippies with Charles Manson eyes, flamethrowers, and chainsaws.

Read Laurel962's past letters and you'll see she doesn't like any of these letters: GBLT

@ lexsali

My point is that in disrespecting Ms. Clayton, you're potentially pleasing these people:

Osama bin Laden

the KKK

the Aryan Brotherhood

the Westboro Baptist Church

Neo-Nazis

They all would disrespect Ms. Clayton, if they could. Some might use fists. Laurel962 uses her fingers.

You too agree with above list. On this issue, at least, you could gather with them and they'd slap your back and you'd slap their backs.

"Sister," they'd say.

"Brothers," you'd say.

That alone should make you reconsider your position.

Original article: What's that smell?

Funny line, Ms. Harding, about...

...the pothead and mass.

Saturday, August 30, 2008 07:27 AM

@ Opahsno

You're right.

Thus, Ms. Clayton's story is a tragedy.

That tragedy is extended by this subtitle, where she's being used by Broadstreet for an unclean purpose, which is to further Broadstreet's narrative at Ms. Clayton's expense: "According to some, Jamie Clayton is better at being a woman than most biological females."

As expected, posters lined up to fling feces at Ms. Clayton.

FULL ON SNARK:

I assume that they assume Ms. Clayton's due their disdain, since a woman like Ms. Clayton has probably lived a cushy life. No twists or turns for her! Easy Street all the way! Who better to denigrate than such a person of supreme privilege! Here's to you heroes and heroines who attacked Ms. Clayton, you golden Goddesses and Gods, you defenders of the defenseless and you who strip the swaddling from the most privileged of us!

Home invasions are terrifying.

What does one do when it's the police invading your home? One can't dial 911.

Might civil of you to try and engage MMM. I hope he replies.

@ asehpe

Thanks for alerting me to subodim's posts. They are interesting.

I especially like subodim asking, "Why have women gotten you so down?"

MMM likely believes that he's been answering that, circumulocuting post by circumlocuting post. However, MMM speaks generally. Your question is personal.

Regarding losing faith, two of my favorite authors lost faith, both secular and spiritual: Mark Twain and Kurt Vonnegut. I know that there are smart people who die believing in our species moral evolution, but I think they're just pretending in case there really is a God who gives a shit about our words or because it's bad form to publically despair. I've lost faith, but I still try to stand between those with more and those with less, for those with more invariably want more.

FLASH: Doppelganger proves that masculinity is about more than sex!

Doppelganger's adolescent concern with Ms. Clark-Flory's locks reminds all of a mean girl! Next week, watch as Doppelganger calls Ms. Clark-Flory "a poophead," cyber-pushes her, and runs!

If one is a Bush voter who posts at Salon, that one hates freedom.

Bush, who was elected by Bush voters, told us that freedom is on the march. Therefore, if freedom is on the march in Iraq and a Bush voter isn't there, that Bush voter hates freedom.

Get thee to Iraq, Bush voters! Seriously. Pay for your sins with your eyes and arms and lives. Elephantman, you can drive a Hummer. You can bleed for your beliefs. Don't ask others to suffer for your sins.

But you stay and post at Salon.

Coward.

Monster.
