Where to start?
We've got people calling this "propaganda" and "warship worship" when the documentary hasn't even aired yet. Way to be objective and watch the documentary with an open mind.
The aircraft carrier is a target.. well, duh! Every plane, ship, and vehicle built by and for the military is a target.
It's the defensive and offensive ability of these that makes them vulnerable. An aircraft carrier is a large target, but I'll go ahead and assume someone would be more likely to try and go after a destroyer such as the USS Cole than try to target an aircraft carrier because of its capabilities.
As far as tech fission bombs and aircraft carriers being afraid of them... ya think? How many ships, or anything for that matter, is going to go moseying around looking to get hit by a tech fission bomb?
Some people save to go on a vacation... it just so happens I save to go to Vegas once a year for the NCAA tournament instead of taking a cruise, etc.
Could I take all that money and go somewhere else? Sure I could, but I'd rather get a group of friends together and get a little crazy for 3 nights of fun.
I've lost more than I've won, but my losses have been less than half of what I've taken for 9 years now. There's not many vacations where you have the opportunity to actually leave with more money than you've taken.
So maybe I can do math. Maybe I am sane, logical, and realize what I can spend on a vacation and choose to do so in Vegas with friends.
Wow there's a lot of whining here.
Why my family and dog got around in a 2 seater going on 12 hour monthly trips in 5 ft of snow towing a trailer! And let me tell you about school... I walked uphill both ways in snowbanks taller than I was! Did I fail in my "Look at me!" argument?
Oh, and AWD does not equal an SUV. My Audi has quattro and it's far from an SUV.
Anyway, the guy bought an SUV and it doesn't sound like he uses it a lot. I mean, maybe he should've bought a cheaper mtn bike and donated the money saved to Green Peace or whatever too.
While it could very well be incompetence that lost all that date... does anyone know if T-Mobile was paying for backups?
It'll be interesting to find out what actually happened in this case. I wonder if the truth will actually come out, or if we'll just get generalities.
