Sorry if this has already been suggested, but please invite him onto Salon Radio to defend his hyper-stupidity. I'd be willing to bet anyone here "Fifty Bail-out Bux" (translation: $4.67 actual cash value after the "Bailout Bounce" takes full effect) that he won't accept. I'll bet he won't even respond to Glenn's request one way or the other.
That's what I love about these chickenshit coward stenography majors: they talk a big game as long as no one else is talking back, or at least not doing so for more than 20 seconds.
however, not passing this bill cost all of us a trillion dollars yesterday instead of $700 billion. this does directly effect the little guy - i am sure any of them looking at their 401ks today are feeling a little sick.
This is, for lack of a better term, simply garbage argumentation.
Yesterday didn't cost anyone a trillion anything. Those are mostly (if not entirely) paper losses that are as common as the sun rising and setting. The stock market goes up and down, in case you hadn't noticed that. Gains and losses are going to happen every day, no matter what else is going on. True yesterday's were worse, but that is called a market correction, and the smart investors are back at it today buying like crazy.
If the little guy has his 401k in the stock market and doesn't realize these basic market concepts, then the little guy is the one screwing up and doesn't belong there in the first place. That's where mine is, and I'm not worried about it because I'm invested for the long term and know that the market will bounce back, just like it always has, for the entire history that it has existed.
Stop with the lame-brained scare tactics. Nobody here is buying it.
That's pretty surprising. Are there not enough multi-millionaires affiliated with Wall St. in the chamber?
@XXXXXXXX,
Can you pantomime that for us? hehe. ;)
Excellent stuff.

You know, I almost feel like we should let the big Wall Street companies fail. Let the economy crumble. Let our standard of living take a nose dive.
This may be the only way we can make people wake up and start behaving responsibly - to realize that this is For Real This Time.
I think your idea has some real merit. We have seen in so many ways the virtual forced coma most of America seems to be in when it comes to doing and advocating for what is right for the country, whether politically, financially, socially, or environmentally. They are put to sleep by the most divisive and moronic of arguments, reinforced and amplified by our "bubble-headed bleach blond" media, most of which a Jr. High student could deconstruct to see their lack of substance.
I am of the belief that only something so big, that affects everyone to a great degree, will allow the kind of awakening that is needed. A massive sit-down strike across an entire industry is another weapon that would be near impossible to construct, but which would really make the slack-jawed mouth breathers among us finally wake up and take notice.
Affect their pocket books in a massive way. Apparently that will be the only thing that works. Surely it's obvious by now that no scandal, rip off, or trampling of rights is large enough by itself.
Why do you think it is that you are virtually the only source or name in his entire article that isn't linked? There are like 50 links in there, but your name is not. Did you notice that?
Forgive me if this point has already been made, but why has there been just shy of ZERO talk about holding those accountable for this mess criminally negligent? Surely we are not to believe this was all merely "a series of unfortunate events" are we?
Where is our intrepid media? Where is the uber competent FBI? Where are those detail-oriented watchdogs at the SEC?
Oh yeah, they're all in it together. Nevermind.
So Glenn, can non-citizens buy and own property in Brazil, and if so, what's a nice 3-bedroom home or condo going for these days?
I've really started to wonder if this is a country that will be good for me to live in during the coming decade or two. Increasingly, it is looking like it is not.
Is it really that hard? We have so much more to talk about than them and their idiocy.
C'mon, humans.
Lynne Cheney has a new book! The Dick's wife has just written a riveting new book "We The People," which is a children's book about...........wait for it...........the Constitution!
Lynne Cheney!!!!!!!!!!!! The Constitution!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing possibly more nauseating would be if The Dick had written it himself.
Lynne was just on MSNBC this morning hawking it on the Joe "I never Ask Anything Tough or Probing of Anyone With An R By Their Name" Scarborough morning show.
My gag reflex is on overtime...
Glenn, clearly you should have a medical degree in order to carry around those kinds of surgical instruments you just used to carve out the word "hypocrisy" into the foreheads of the rightwingnutty class. Or maybe an art degree, I can't really decide.
I sincerely hope your take on this gets amplified by Olbermann and Maddow. This is the EXACT type of example we need to point out the insanity of the positions being taken by "Billo the Clown" and others. No doubt Rush Dumbaugh will be good for any number of quotes today on his show.
Whether or not you want to admit it....the Bush administration deserves credit for keeping us safe these past 7 years.
And Bush is also responsible for the sun not going out, because the sun has risen every day since 9/11 as well.
Oh, and the moon not crashing into the earth....yep, itz cuz uv him......
Thanks for that compelling insight.
