All True...
[Read the article: Some free advice for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Though he should also take care in making sure that the deflections his campaign takes bounce right back on hers. To whit: their adoption of the Rove playbook; the fact that two of the other defendants in the Rezko trial are Clinton donors; and that, initially it was her campaign who contacted Canada in regards to NAFTA.
While responding to the criticism honestly, it doesn't hurt to be on the offensive as well. They do need to find a graceful way to utilize the Clinton campaign's current Swiftboat approach to make them seem all the more craven.

Swiftboat = Leadership?
[Read the article: Obama camp targets Clinton experience claims]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Call me crazy, but a leader wouldn't put themselves in a position to have to go negative to gain any traction.
A leader wouldn't praise the opposition's candidate at the expense of her own party. In fact, a leader wouldn't take steps at dismantling their party, and alienate a huge portion of that party's base in the process.
With each and every action, memo and statement, I lose respect for the Clinton campaign. It isn't that I don't respect determination, it's just that I usually prefer determination to be coupled with scruples.

Pretty Simple...
[Read the article: MySpace, YouTube, and the cheerleader beating video]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...Always has been and always will be.
The responsible party: Parents.
Yes, it's hard to keep track of the buggers; yes, you can't control every aspect of their lives. However, who're the people responsible for instilling the values the kids will learn to live by?

All Well And Good...
[Read the article: "Grand Theft Auto IV" is a dark urban masterpiece]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...to defend violence in modes of fictional entertainment, right up until you realize how difficult it is for a skull to leave an impression in a frying pan.
MGM cartoons are responsible for more deaths than GTA IV.

The Commentariat v. Walsh
[Read the article: In the land of believers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"And this is something I'm noticing again in the Obama-Hillary split now. Members of each group have rooting interests and belief systems and they are completely unwilling to concede anything to the other group and they refuse to debate anything in a rational, calm way. It's all about trying to destroy the other side."
It's like he's read the comments field on a Joan Walsh blog post. And I support Obama.

Well Argued...
[Read the article: What's so bad about "sweetie," anyway?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...and thanks for that.

What Dems Are Up Against
[Read the article: A great debate about Obama and Appalachia]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Please forgive me if this has already been posted, I just found it interesting on many levels:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-q4MDQ0cDI
I think the line "I do think it is a smear tactic, I also think we have a right to know" is kind of telling. I also find the whole "I just don't know what [Obama] stands for" reasoning to be more than a little disingenuous, considering that BHO hasn't exactly been shy about what he does stand for.
Do I think the people shown are representative of the entire region? No. Nor do I want to suggest that these folks are best left ignored.
This would not negate the need for BHO, and the urbans to reach out to the rural vote, as little blue dot suggests; at the same time, let's not kid ourselves into thinking that simply visiting, meeting and talking with the people in the area will automatically change everything for the positive. As the clip shows, there are some deeply imbedded obstacles already in the way.

If It's Fair...
[Read the article: A new low in Clinton bashing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...to question Obama's commitment to the poor with his "bitter/clinging" comment, then it's fair to question exactly what on earth Hillary is saying when bringing up a historical event that is both tangential to the topic at hand AND raises the specter of assassination. Especially, as it has been noted elsewhere on this site, when there are far more germane examples to be brought to the forefront.
I generally find the Walsh-bashing in the comment field to be overwrought, and more damaging than good for the pro-Obama camp (a camp I belong to), but even I have to admit to a growing impatience with how certain issues are discussed here.
So, along with a general desire for the SuperDelegates to come out of the shadows and have themselves counted one way or another, I want for Obama-critics to quit hiding behind ill-defined "concerns" about Obama and start getting specific about what these supposed concerns are. If nothing else to give the candidate a chance to address them head on.

@ShawnWM
[Read the article: A new low in Clinton bashing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Most of us HRC supporter will never forgive the trio of Obama, the radical left and the AA community. Not so much as Hillary supporters, but as Americans.
I was an Edwards supporter from Jump Street, was truly saddened when he dropped out, and eventually came to accept that the truth of the matter is that Obama ran a much better campaign.
Instead of blaming him or whoever else, I do suggest you take a look at what Clinton had planned from the beginning, what her campaign did when it started derailing, and what her message has been since then.
Is it Obama's fault that Hillary's campaign has managed to alienate focus group after focus group while catering to a few particulars?

Out of Curiosity
[Read the article: Profanity-laced tirade watch: Mariners]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And not being overly sensitive, I'm just wondering if there's a city whose sports teams you deride more than Seattle's (not that any of today's comments were unwarranted).
Is it that you have friends up here who you like giving the business to? Or is it more of an SF/Seattle rivalry thing?
Not asking for change, as I look forward to the day when one of these tragedy-plagued teams proves you wrong. Again, merely curious.

[Read the article: NBA Finals prediction: Lakers in 5]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]For once, I agree with Phil Jackson in saying that those wins in the regular pre-season don't amount to much in the finals.
I'm rooting for the Celts, but really, I just want some good competitive basketball.
Celts in seven.

Fantasy Films
[Read the article: Clint vs. Spike: WWII racial grudge match!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Lee did Mo' Betta Blues as an answer to Eastwood's Bird...And I agree that Eastwood would've made a more compelling film out of Clockers' cop half, but Lee would make Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil exponentially better.
So would Kasi Lemmons, for that matter.
