friend of a friend

i had a best friend at one time--a best female friend--whose friend groped me. once, twice, three times. i told her about it and she made excuses: oh that's just bob (not his real name). oh he didn't know it upset you. oh he was just fooling around.

then one day, bob and best female friend jane and i were at her house and she left to go take care of her laundry at the laundromat, buy cigarettes, and get gas, leaving us alone. bob groped me and i told him that his behavior was unacceptable. i told him that it was sexual assault, and that it needed to stop. now. his response was to demand that i remove my top. my response was to ask him if he was insane. he tried to remove it for me. a struggle ensued. finally, after I smacked him squarely across the face and threatened to call the police for attempted rape, he ran out the door. when jane returned from the laundromat, she asked what happened. i told her, thinking she would not in a million years dismiss it. she did. we are no longer friends.

this boyfriend, and his friends, don't respect you. i wonder how far it would have to go before your boyfriend would stop making excuses for his friends--my friend's friend tried to sexually assault me and she still found a way to make excuses for him. in this case, she said that it was because i was single that bob felt he was allowed to touch me. in your case, it's because of who knows what, and who cares. these people don't respect you. get away from them.

quote of the day

mccain: "i want families to decide their health issues with their doctors, not their federal governments"

...unless, of course, someone in the family is pregnant and doesn't wish to be.

afghan freedom fighters???

did mccain really say that? we made a mistake in abandoning the afghan freedom fighters? does he know that one of those "freedom fighters" was actually, literally, osama bin laden? does he KNOW THAT?? and that those freedom fighters were a mix of wahabbist saudis, egyptian muslim brothers, and afghanistani taliban???

obama better not let him get away with that...

do people know that that would mean? no social security checks, medicare...no maintenance for national parks...no funding for interstate highways, or other interstate bridges...

also..opinion:

do these Little BIlly and the bracelet stories work? what is he talking about? what does this have to do with anything? does Amurica (you know--real Amurica, not those of us who live in Sodom and Gomorrah like cities such as LA and NY) go for this?

arms race in the middle east

i love the way iran's development of nuclear weapons is setting off an arms race in the middle east, even though Israel has a nuclear weapon. They didn't set off the arms race though. nope! cause they are allowed to have nuclear weapons for some reason, and no one else is.

by the way the wipe off the map was a mistranslation FYI

kind of off topic but as an FYI:

he did not say "wipe israel off the map" as that idiom does not exist in persian. his words were that the regime occupying Jerusalem:

بايد از صفحه روزگار محو شود

literally:

must from page of time cause to vanish.

then he went on to say:

...we cannot compromise over the issue of Palestine. Is it possible to create a new front in the heart of an old front. This would be a defeat and whoever accepts the legitimacy of this regime has in fact, signed the defeat of the Islamic world. Our dear Imam targeted the heart of the world oppressor in his struggle, meaning the occupying regime. I have no doubt that the new wave that has started in Palestine, and we witness it in the Islamic world too, will eliminate this disgraceful stain from the Islamic world

no idea

it is absolutely clear from watching the video that palin had no idea what couric was talking about, except that gaza had something to do with israel, which has something to do with iran somehow. hence: israel: good! iran: bad!

i fear for our nation and the world if mccain gets in--this is 72 year old survivor of cancer and this is what he has come up with?
