Let me summarize the situation in different way:

Boromire:

Let us turn the power of the ring against the evil forces who have ruined our land! Too long have the people suffered while the corporation’s coffers have been held safe.

Aragorn:

We cannot wield the ring, no one can. It is the tool of the enemy! It will corrupt anyone who touches it.

Gandolf:

Our lands are so ruined and poisoned as to be rendered infertile for generations. A powerful evil now blankets MiddleAmerica that is melting our poles and may spell the doom of mankind! We must act boldly or all will be lost.

Elrond:

Yet, the new one, with his intelligence and character, Frodobama has shown a remarkable resistance to the ring’s evil. To have come so far so fast.

Glenn Greenwaldarian:

Well, what are we waiting for, lets destroy this evil. (Glenn takes his pen and tries to destroy the evil… and is thrown back in a terrible explosion of consequences and compromise with his ideals)…..

….much bickering and fighting amongst the forces of good and justice ensue… until.

Frodobama:

…I will take it! … Though I do not know the way.

Well MiddleAmerica, get ready for an epic battle, swords will be broken, shields will be splintered and the whole country just may become a dead empty place if Frodobama were to fail in his quest.

republicans are the party of life, except...

...when they want to start a war and kill half the planet's population that happen to Muslim.

...when they want to put men, women and children to death by applying the death penalty as broadly and brutally as possible.

...when they cause worldwide famine by preventing anything to be done about global warming by denying its existence at the expense of literally everyone else on earth.

and on, and on.

That whole traveling circus is the definition

of white trash.

We used to look to the nation's best and brightest, with Palin its the nation's worst and dullest.

Thank God we have one of our best as president now. Makes me think we might just make it.

Some of our letters were lost???!!!

Oh, the humanity!

Point 1.

I may have missed one of elephantboy's hilarious ramblings or one of the hundreds of troll's cut-n-paste specials from one of the right wing toilet stalls on the web.

Point 2.

I've never had one of my posts deleted, and I'm a pretty obnoxious a-hole. If you’re getting your posts deleted they must be hilariously bad or obscene.

Point 3.

We should all be working on something else anyway, so serves us right.

I live near on of the largest "mega-churches" in the US.

Its called southeast christian.

It is one of the places these people you describe in the article come from. It is made of up the wealthiest, most powerful and politically connected people in the area. They are militant, they are angry (most are rich, so I don't know where the anger is coming from).

Someone at the beginning of the letter section suggested something that I will argue is absolutely true.

If an atheist, or muslim or jewish person were to walk into that church one day and aggressively and insistently, just as the people in that article are doing, tell them that they are sinners and their religion is false THEY WOULD MURDER THAT PERSON IN COLD BLOOD.

So who are the real Christians?

The only thing stronger than their hatred of all others is their self delusion. I don’t know how anyone with even the vaguest knowledge of the main themes and stories in the bible wouldn’t take one look at that huge, quarter billion dollar, glass and gold castle filled with the richest, most privileged and powerful people in the state and conclude that if Jesus were come back to earth now and walk into that place that he wouldn’t reduce the place to a smoking hole in the ground. If he got angry at the rich merchants in the Jewish temple… could you imagine.

Someone needs to put a billboard up by that lie they call a church that reads:

“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven”

P.S.(they would go ape-shit over that too.)

@ Mstaken

There is a recent, documented event when the "church security" (My little ol church never had to have a security organization, guess we just relied on God) beat the hell out of some guy in their parking lot because they thought he didn’t belong there.

The thug who beat the guy up is of course also an off duty police officer working for the church security organization, (they are just getting more christ-like all the time) therefore its been dragging through the courts with the local police trying to make it go away.

Turns out the guy was actually invited to go there to attend some seminar on marriage counseling.

You may have a point however, they may not kill someone in cold blood... if they though they would get caught. Otherwise you are kidding yourself about these people.... or perhaps you are just ms-taken...

(sorry couldn’t help myself on that one.)
