I never thought I would be doing this, but....

...stop picking on Dan Quail.

Yes, he's not so smart and he can't spell potato, but he is by no means as stupid and dangerous as Palin.

I went to collage in the 90s and still live near to a major university and this sort of thing NEVER happens.

In the 60s they also had the national guard shooting students in cold blood. But hey, it was no big deal.

Original article: Racists for Obama

I know its been said but,

calling Obama "openly black" is about the funniest thing a read in a political article in months.

...am I "openly white"? or am I a closeted white?

One more f%$king thing to worry about. Thanks a lot Hannaham

Every time she opens her mouth...

... the right wing of the Republican party dies a little more.

I say, let her speak!

To accomplish the huge tasks ahead of us...

...the Democratic party will need unity and discipline. Lieberman has made a mockery out of the very notion Democratic party discipline.

Those who sabotage the party's big objectives must pay the price or the party will descend into chaos and nothing will get accomplished.

BTW, the republicans don't like Lieberman either, they just loved the fact that they could use him so effectively... let his long exile in the wilderness begin.

goodbye Joe, you will not be missed.

Elephantboy!

...you can be her running mate.

(although she may be a big as an elephant by 2012, you'll have to find new waking material)

Original article: Ask the pilot

Love your artical as usual, but

I must disagree with one point that I think most people would consider minor and perhaps you also.

Your suggestion of financing improved airport facilities through higher fees on private aircraft owners will destroy what is left of general aviation in this country. (It may be dead anyway from increased fuel costs and already astronomic airport/maintenance fees.)

Most people think of fat cat corporations and the super rich with more money than they know what to do with when they hear about "private aviation", but what I'm talking about is the middle class (O.K., I'll put a number by it, In my world $100K/year is middle to upper middle class.) person who loves aviation and scraps saves, builds and buys until they can realize their dream of flight.

General aviation for the "average" person is fast becoming something you tell your grandchildren about.

OK, that's my two cents.

errr ARTICLE...

spellchecking without actually reading can be a bad thing.

That "list" just proved Rather's point...

...and probably will help him win his lawsuit.

I actually thought it was a joke at first. Unless CBS can get a jury made up completely of "Bushies" Rather is on the road to exoneration and a big freak'n payday... on CBS's tab.

Original article: "The woman's not stupid"

Are you for real?

You should have to put $20 in a jar every time you use the word "misogynist".

Your constant use of that inflammatory word to describe any criticism of any woman (often by women) for any reason renders the word meaningless.

Its like calling Democrats "Socialist" for suggesting that the rich should pay progressively more taxes than poor people.

Obama only hurt the Democrats with the racist demographic...

...who are solidly under the republican tent anyway.

If the Democrats can build on their majority and undo a lot of the age-old republican voter suppression strategies, the racists will become disinterested in politics and stop voting... to the benefit of everyone in the United States and the world.

Someone please set me straight.

Wouldn't putting Gingrich in charge of the RNC be precisely more of the same???

I don't get what his supporters are thinking...?

I can only hope as some columnists have suggested, that the lesson the republicans are taking away from the last two ass kickings at the polls is that they need to move even MORE toward the batshitcrazy right wing of politics. Are they even aware of where that road ultimately leads? This is not new territory, there have been uber right political movements in the twentieth century before and they ultimately didn't work out so well.

I'm not sure what an even more crass, Machiavellian, populist, anti-intellectual republican party would look like but I'm sure it would:

a.) Be grotesque in tone and substance.

b.) Assure a Democratic majority for the rest of my lifetime.

Go Newt Go!
