F Iraq and Afganistan!

As sure as death and taxes this electronic death halo, administered and operated by detached bureaucrats will soon be clamped down over OUR skies.

Some time in the near future YOU, my fellow American, will be tracked by one of these ever improving robots. You will be watched with for a few minutes or hours, while a totally detached, bored, uncaring (or worse), technician munches on turkey sandwich while holding his free hand over a button which will.... "blow you to bits", toss you down a "memory hole", make you "go away", end you life with all the fanfare of issuing a parking ticket.

At the last second he pulls his finger back and says to a colleague working in the next cubical, who couldn't care less.... nawwww, we'll watch this one a little longer, the paperwork is way too much if you "neutralize" a beetle. But ya know, the paperwork gets easier all the time, crap pretty soon there're wont be any paperwork at all... then, yes then well get all those "bad guys"...... this will be a pretty fun job!.... going bowling tonight?

Solution:

Spend some time moderating a sports message board and you'll stop worrying and start laughing when sensitive readers get their feathers ruffled when someone calls them a poopy head.

@filthyharry

We both used "poopy head" in our posts...

OK, you hyphenated yours... smarty-pants

@FilthyHarry

LoL,

This is much more fun than work...

going to have to ban myself from the internet for the next few hours...

...that should raise the level of discourse a few notches.

If the huckster can drag his campaign onto the convention floor...

... my crystal ball shows three likely scenarios:

a.) McCain will punch him out and leave him bleeding in a bathroom where he is subsequently molested Larry Craig.

c.) McCain will tell him to F- off and die from the podium during prime time.

d.) The rapture will suddenly happen during the republican convention leaving behind only.... oh crap, they're all still there.

The lesson to be learned in Canada's threat has nothing to do with NAFTA

The lesson to be learned is that we must work to become energy independent.

Canada is our closest ally in the world and even they are using our dependence on foreign oil to threaten us. Yeah, that's right, Canada not Venezuela or Saudi Arabia, Canada.

After the oil embargo of the 70's we drastically cut back our oil consumption, made the incredibly hostile and anti-American OPEC cartel much less influential, caused oil supplies to rise (because of our decrease in consumption) and prices adjusted for inflation dropped like a rock.

But then the republican revolution took place, US oil companies gained a huge amount of influence in Washington, CAFE standards were aggressively abandoned, oil consumption skyrocketed again (tax rebates for driving gas guzzlers anyone) and guess what... oil prices have skyrocketed again and every two bit dictatorship in the world (Et tu Canada) has the loaded embargo gun pointed at our heads.

We can and must make ourselves energy independent. We were well on our way to independence before the republicans took over and gave the US government an ice pick lobotomy. We can be energy independent in less than five years if we make it a national priority. The republicans could never do that because for them the interests of the oil companies come before that of the US public. What would be the benefits of energy independence?:

1.) The middle east, with all its wars, religious hatred and bread and butter of anti-Americanism suddenly becomes irrelevant.

2.) The price of gas will drop through the floor (the cost of fuel is controlled by a rate equation, not the absolute amount of oil in the ground, using less than what is being produced, that is the key).

3.) We stop financing our enemies overseas.

4.) It would go a looooong way toward slowing global warming.

5.) Smash OPEC.

The list goes on and on.

The lesson to be learned in Canada's threat has nothing to do with NAFTA, its breaking our dependence on foreign oil.

They cannot sell

Doing so would open up the company to an army of lawyers, auditors and engineers who are not in the pocket of the republican party.

Diebold sells and their senior executives go to jail.

Original article: Obama wins Vermont

If Hillary wants to stay in this race and have a chance to be relevant.

She needs to stop punching holes in the raft her, Obama and the rest of country for that matter are in and start attacking McCain.

Original article: Clinton wins Ohio

OK, I'll be the first to point out the elephant in the room

republicans voting in the Democratic primaries either because its allowed or they are registered as Democrats in order to cause just this type of mischief.

I personally know a couple of repubs that are registered as Democrats for this very purpose. I immediately thought of them laughing their asses off tonight.

The real question about this is election

is not if Obama or Clinton wins the white house, its will GW Bush and members of administration be sent to prison.

For the sake of all that is and ever was good and just about America I sure as hell hope so!!!!!!!

God Damn those bastards.

Andersonville Prison

I was thinking this morning if there has ever been a such a disgraceful episode in US history as this.

Andersonville Prison

After the war they put the commandant of and Andersonville on trial, convicted him of war crimes and hung the bastard.

Original article: Obama's speech on race

I want the best and the brightest America has to offer to lead this country forward.

I intend to vote for the best and the brightest because I think that is what America needs in the worst way.

I'd vote republican if that candidate were the best and brightest but unfortunately the makeup of the Republican party makes it impossible for them to put forward such a candidate.

That has to be one of the best speeches by an American politician in 20 years. The more I learn about Obama the more I think he is best equipped to reunite America and lead us out of the disaster of the Bush years.
