"would be very dangerous if we could make a few grams of it, but this would take us billions of years."
So they acknowledge the threat?!?! Its just a question of time?!? Bring on the inquisition!!!!!
I hereby denounce all fact based knowledge to save my soul!!!
I think on the one hand, she'll never get out of the primaries because her repub opponents (you know how they get during primaries) will savage her, especially about being a quitter, and not being able to handle the pressure of the press. And being valid criticisms, they will be devastating for her. Plus with her history and family, how vulnerable she'd be against the kind of people who said McCain was having black babies out of wedlock. They will leave her broken on the side of the road.
However knowing Palin, what could be more fun than watching her in a campaign where she's not being held back by McCain's handlers? It'll be an interstate 50 car pile up wreck!
She'll be calling press conferences all the time to make the most insane announcements.
I'm glad to see the RNC's rebranding effort is going as bout at well as anything they manage.
An unhappy truth but not sexist because the same thing applies to men too. It would be different if men had the ability to shift focus from work to family without being penalized as well.
Most of the time you hear about a guy 'spending more time with his family' he's just been fired.
Welch's mistake was in gearing his statement to women, which makes it seem sexist. Which is probably due to his inherent misogyny.
...Boyfriend?
1. Hard to imagine that any terminology they settle upon, won't in the future be just as offensive to them as midget is now.
2. I wholly support any person or group of people informing me how they prefer to be referred to. However when those people tell me I MUST use only approved words my response to tell them to kiss my ass.
Of course I reserve the right to decide who I shall be respectful too. Don't you?
Where was I disrespectful?
ok lol, wasn't looking for it, sorry.
Chuck Todd Summed Up: If I can't have perfect apolitical investigations, I'll take lawlessness for the political elite.
About 20 pages ago I posted my summarization of Todd's blather but now I think I thought too deeply on it. Really I think its just a matter of Todd, knowing himself to be an important member of the MSM and whitehouse correspondent, he wasn't going to let a mere blogger show him up. So he really had no choice but to deny everything Glenn said. The conversation had nothing to do with Todd's philosophy or intellectual beliefs and opinions. It was all ego for Todd. Thats it.
We live in a society that encourages unfulfilling activities while discouraging fulfilling activities. Many people are unhappy. Teen angst and the male mid-life crisis are NOT normal human behavior as we accept it to be, and are not found outside our culture.
glad to hear you're happy, but your 'sadness' is indicative of mental illness. Sit tight and a pill for occasional sadness will be coming your way shortly. 'Sadvil' or possibly 'Melanchol'
So in feminism vs. pragmatism, feminism loses? Good to know.
I... I- I want to... touch the no, no square! God forgive me!
Hmm, 'No, No Square' sounds like a Black-Eyed Peas summer hit. Can't you see Fergie gyrating, singing about her 'No, No Square'?
Any successful govt program undercuts their entire political strategy. Now if they were truly interested in the welfare of the country, they might pause and say "Hey, govt can do some good, maybe we should rethink our ideology?" but instead its all about consolidating power for profit and control so when reality and ideology collide, reality must be wrong.
Future archeologists/historians, will describe our culture in 'ghastly' terms upon the discovery of several facets of our lifestyle, though none so obvious as our legal system. How many innocents are sacrificed that the rest may feel an illusion of security?
While I agree that people are the same, and there are no noble or savage people, I disagree with the implication that American Indians would have destroyed the ecology if only given the opportunity. The difference between European conquerors and the native Americans was that each group of people had a different vision of their place as a people in the world. The Europeans vision of themselves, as a species, was (and still is) that the earth belongs to human beings and it is ours to do with as we please. More specifically, Europeans saw themselves (mistakenly assuming 'themselves' equals humanity) as external to the natural earth, and their job was to subdue it. Contrastingly, Native Americans generally saw themselves as part of the earth and consequently it would be an alien idea to lay waste to their environment. Again, this is not because Europeans were 'bad' nor native Americans 'good' but just because each group had a different vision of how they saw themselves in relation to their environments.
I think now that the repubs are doubling down on their southern white strategy, combined with the outrageous, beyond the pale claims and attacks by major people in the party (killing our babies, elderly, by nazis bent on facist socialist control of america) it should be obvious that we're not dealing with a difference of policy. These people will be shifting from violent words to violence before too long.
