Original article: A new big lie by the GOP

If they focus on the homebuyers, they're lying

Fact is the global financial crisis was caused by whoever changed the rule that let banks sell their mortgages to financial institutions to be bundled as securities.

That one thing caused it all. Once banks could sell their loans, they weren't quite as interested if the borrowers could pay them back, after all the loan wasn't on their books anymore.

Ok I admit it

When I read the headline I thought the article was going to be about Cindy coming down with a case of jungle fever. It would have been a much more exciting story.

All Obama Needs To Do...

Is confront McCain on this. At their next debate Obama at some point needs to ask McCain if he thinks Obama is a secret muslim terrorist. No matter how McCain answers he'll either piss off undecideds or his base. Making McCain seem like the lowest bottom feeding type of scum to the mainstream voter if he says he does, and making him seem like a coward if he does not.

Also the Obama campaign should launch a campaign to address how the PALIN/mccain campaign is hurting America by taking what should be a difference of opinion and is really just poisoning a % of the population against the possible leader of the next administration in a naked and blind attempt to win. Take the really high-road Obama.

Original article: Shades of Mark Penn?

Its all good

The more they focus on Ayers, the more the electorate is going to focus on the candidate who is talking about the issues, especially the economy.

Just have to hope their are more sane people than racists in America... *sigh* its going to be close.

Sure, lets discuss drug use

For someone who won't release his current medical records, I'm for more interested in McCain's CURRENT drug use. God knows what cocktail of meds a 72yo, POW, cancer survivor is taking on a daily basis.

I know elderly/ill people who take a lot of meds and the effect can often be quite mood altering or disorienting.

This is the kind of thing that frustrates me...

How can an abuse of power not be illegal? Isn't an abuse of power illegal by definition? If it's not illegal, how can their be abuse? Are they saying there is an acceptable amount of abuse of power? WTF!?!?

Friday, October 10, 2008 07:39 PM

@ Hans B

But they did find an abuse of power, no? Not in a partisan way, but just intellectually curious in a general way, what I want to know is whatever that abuse of power was, how could it be an abuse of her power, but not be illegal?

Licking Valley High School

chuckle...snort...laugh...guffaw!

Had to re-read that a few times to make sure I was reading what I was seeing, then to see if it was some sort of joke that I wasn't getting.

This is the worst news!

Bill Kristol is always wrong!

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 08:42 AM

He probably won't, but I hope he will.

If he does he'll be lambasted in the press for doing it only because he was goaded into it by his opponent. Plus he has to realize 2 things:

1. Obama will obviously be waiting for it and will be devastatingly prepared for it.

2. There is no way he'll be able to bring it up in a way that will meet the expectations of those that want him to bring it up. Unless McCain screams "TERRORIST TRAITOR!!!" and leaps over the podium to attack Obama, his base will be disappointed.

So there is really no benefit to McCain doing it, and in his interview he was already making excuses why he won't bring it up (its the moderator's fault).

No credit is deserved

You know, lets go ahead and assume that the financial crisis is solved due to these people's actions.

That being said, its still nothing to be proud of. The very foundations of America's economy and systems of finance have been compromised. There is no longer a free market. The illusion has be revealed. The solution required spending hundreds of billions of the peoples' money, direct government intervention to save companies who deserved their failures due to the mistakes they made. Nationalizing banks.

From here on out the conversation will be different. Healthcare? Welfare? Unemployment? Taxes? All of these things and more are now on the table for discussion. A republican president has done this. The free market is dead. Why lower taxes for the wealthy in hopes it'll trickle down? Just give the goddamn money to the population. The ultimate upshot is from now on everyone knows that the govt will spend the peoples' money to save private enterprise. That knowledge is the free markets failure. Period.

Here is a headline:

Fiscal Conservatives Go 5Mil In Debt To Help Fiscal Conservatives Get Elected!

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 10:31 AM

Good Points But...

I wouldn't exactly consider the repubs to be good bets at this time, but on the other hand, since the banks are counting on the govt to back all their loans I'd say they'll get whatever money they need.

It would be the ultimate of all delicious just desserts if the RNC were denied their loan request tho.

How strange

And I just saw on David Gregory's show polls that showed McCain ahead in VA!?! Oh right, the tool was using polls 2 weeks old to help his make believe narrative that McCain was making a comeback.

Check the link in my sig to see.

Original article: Polls: Obama wins again

The smiling & blinking

The constant non-contextual smiling was not only creepy but I though really hurt McCain in the 'looking presidential' dept. Especially compared with Obama's sober serious demeanor.

And the blinking! Average person blinks once every 2 seconds, McCain was in REM state. All it made me think while looking at him was: He's lying.

Original article: Polls: Obama wins again

What its all about

I think McCain's constant and pointless targeting of his base combined with the ridiculous comment about ACORN threatening the fabric of America all points to the RNC preparing to de-legitimize an Obama presidency as soon as they can as ugly as they can. Look for the lawsuits to start from the McCain camp once Obama is ratified the winner.

So?

Too pointless, too late.
