Its not the length, its how you run.

I've maintained for a while that the primary race is good since it lets the Dem candidates have some control over the media narrative that defines who they are, rather than letting the right-wing attack machine do it, as it will during the GE. And the longer the primaries, the less the impact will be when the right-wing attack machine does kick in.

However this only remains a positive as long as the Dem candidates run in a way that is uplifting to both candidates and to the electorate (I'm lookin at you Hillary).

@ kuhnigget

Normally I'd agree with you about letting homeowners who borrowed more than they can afford suffer the consequences of their actions. However it is important to remember these people did not make their decisions on their own. Many of these people were approached by the banks or if they are the ones who went seeking as loan for a sensible amount it was the bank who offered them more than they could afford. So when it comes to assigning fault, who is more culpable, financial-babes-in-the-woods, or banks. For me it would be the financial institution who were trying to take advantage of the borrower. The borrower was merely trying to take advantage of the mythical 'American Dream'.

For me it boils down to blaming gullibility or malice. I say hammer malice.

I don't understand

How being a POW makes you a hero. The clip of him giving his name rank and serial number made him look pathetic I thought. I do have tons of sympathy for our POW's but I fail to see how being one is something you'd hold up as making you presidential. Maybe just me, but I'd be more impressed if he'd finished his mission and got himself and his plane home safe.

Please oh PLEASE!

Let her put herself in a position where the MSM could conceivably grow a pair and ask LOTS of questions about her role as NSA.

WES

I don't know. I don't see HRC working to well as a second fiddle. I would think she'd be like another Cheney. Not necessarily as evil but I think as power-usurping.

Besides I think if she were even willing to be VP, she'd have dropped out already having worked out a deal with Obama. Whether you're right or not about Dems having a chance without her as VP (and I don't think you are) I don't see it happening.

How bout Hillary/Condi? Oooh that'd make for some good politics!

Fuckin Narcs

Yeah I liked it when I was a kid until I realized that the premise was pure evil.

Original article: The Iran boogeyman is back

Saw it on Sunday

One one of the Sunday shows Sen. Graham was asked a question about Iraq, and he went on and on... about Iran.

All I could think is that these asshats lost Osama, and let Al-Queda flourish in Afhanistan and Pakistan because they focused instead on Iraq. Now Iraq is a huge problem and these Sun-Tzu wannabes are focusing on Iran. Lesson Not Learned.

Original article: How 1968 changed Hillary

Convenient Ending

Nice that it ended before it covered how HRC was FIRED from the Judiciary Committee that was going to impeach Nixon before he resigned. Fired for lying and unethical behavior. In fact the chaiman said he believed had her actions come to light, she'd have been disbarred.

Thats some fine Excutive-izing Hillary!

To those who think this doesn't matter, let me remind you that the grueling primary campaign is supposed to be an opportunity for the electorate to judge the candidates on how well they perform as Executives. I think its clear in this case based solely on how much was paid for what she got that HRC does not come off as an able leader. It is reasonable to wonder then how she would manage OUR money as president.

(Though I admit she could manage it pretty badly while still doing a better job then our current executive.)

There is a third option Glenn

The third option is that you want the terrorists to win. That is the defense that is trotted out whenever the Admin or its proxies are called to the mat.

Good but late.

Its good to hear but at this stage of the race it may be too late to be coming up with a strategy to win.

That being said, I think HRC screwed up bad by running so negative. Even if she wins, she potentially leaves a lot of bad feeling, and with all the potential negatives she'd have going into the General, she can't afford to be adding to them. Best advice to both candidates, is to keep an eye on the NEXT race and run in a way that is uplifting to Dems in general. From where I sit, Obama has been doing that, HRC has not. Thought I acknowledge that as the front runner, Obama has been able to run an uplifting campaign, whereas HRC's choices have been narrower.
